Bible "Many will come in my name..." (Osho, mooji, others)
I think that in the last few words of of this video lies all hundreds of videos by Mooji on YouTube. The whole philosophy is here:
"The minute you're trying to itemize one, two, three, to begin to count you will exclude. Don't count, reject everything completely to that space which does not belong to any other space and nothing is belonging to it. Be in that, and see if its there any suffering, any need for desiring something, insecurity, fear?!"
I have just discovered Mooji today and I'm very grateful. As I listen to this video I find that being alone is frightening for me or seemingly impossible as my mind immediately reaches out and grabs onto something, anything, some thought, some image, and especially those of other people. I guess I am really attached or emmeshed with so many things that I am nowhere near the real "oneness", although I thought I was. Does this make any sense?
@ProfessorMystic What is watching all that is you. Even attachment to the mind is observed. Realize that nothing can take you out of yourself. Even if a bunch of thoughts and emotions happen, they still happen in the aware space that you are. Just stop identifying, judging, and giving so much attention to what you see. Let anything happen inside, but just be the awareness you are. It might take some time for the mind to calm down completely, but awareness is always there regardless. Be that.
Nice vid. I want to point out that advaita is dangerous if you associate yourself with nothingness and with God. This can make you crazy, I saw people mad. Remember, that you are made out of sincere love and you are just a part of God. This way you won't lose the beauty of life and your soul. God is everything, God is pure love created everything. A part is unable to comprehend the whole ever.
you are you.... question "Who am I?".... answer "I'm me".... You've done what you've done... you do what you do and will do... when you're there, watcher and observer do not exist... there are no questions... if anything is present, you're no longer there... where does one continue?.... when you're there, you are being... just be...
From my point of view, prior works just fine because both the observer's existence and focus must exist before any thoughts/feelings/perceptions may appear to the observer. But don't take my word for it, mull it around in your head for a bit. See the thoughts that pop up, the denial, the confusion and see that all those things appear to you. Then completely leave those things be. It takes practice because we all have deeply-ingrained habits of reacting to these things. (Cont...)
Still even the most unfocused person can defy those habits for a few moments if the intentions is there. Then you will see that while all these things arise within your perception, you choose to give them power by paying attention to them, engaging them, believing them. However every time a habit is defied, it is weakened and a new one is formed. And once you see through the mind's misunderstanding you'll find you want nothing more than to continue to do so, until it is effortless.
Going back to existing prior to thoughts, feelings and perceptions, I believe I have a question and an example which may help you and has previously helped me.
First, an example to aid you: Imagine that you are an eyeball. You see all that is around you. Can you see yourself?
Next, the question, a Mooji favourite: Can the perceiver be perceived? Use your logic from the first question again. Can you perceive your thoughts? Emotions? Are they you?
What is "prior to mind" can not be understood by mind. Does that intuitively make sense? The mind (thoughts, ideas, feelings, etc.) "appears". Does it appear to and in itself? Or must not there be something "prior to" it?
You must contemplate these questions in silence... observe silently until you are able to discern "the mind". You will not have found yourself, but you will know what you are not.
mind may be thought of as a post box where every fliers, pamphlets, junks arrive. upto to you to consider them as junk or useful. And again sort them as useful now or later or never. Again 'useful now' could be not so useful and be rejected... So are the thoughts coming to mind..All of them can be discarded..What remains - when the post box remains empty...it gets discarded or in one sense be as if it never exists anymore...Same it is with mind..A state prior to mind is this..
you exist prior to any thought or feeling or experience. This is the direction in which our freedom lies, in which peace lies. This is your security.
Mind, thoughts, feelings, senses, looks for this security, this peace in the world of circumstances and never finds it. It looks for it in the conditionnal and is ever frustrated.
First find out who you are. Then you can be in the world but not of it - no longer at its effect. Then you can enjoy it because you are free of having to have it your way. Then you can find true harmony. Then you can be a blessing.
what is left if you give up all of your thoughts and beliefs, that is the question, that is what is being pointed to. That which is free of the mind, free of thinking, unconditionnal. Keep listening. The fact that you are here listening to this kind of stuff means that it is touching you at a level prior to mind, the only thing that is forever reliable.
His advice is just pointing you in the right direction don't take it personal. Don't try and figure it out because it cannot be figured out in the mind. If you have a lot of mental chatter or doubt it will be hard to understand something so simple but powerful and fresh.
now Actually thought should also cease...no body, no form, no color, what else but sheer emptiness ( not empty , but, emptiness ) remains.. so thoughts, any thought, has not sense..thats why when u see an enlightened person, he appears lost....no reflection, no reaction, no action, total numb, deaf, has eyes open but does not seem to recognise any, and so blind..BUT, this is only appearance to you and me who see that person..that person has become THAT and in a blissful state..This Person is THAT
What could possibly be hurt by any words? This family member is doing you a great service in exposing your own beliefs, what you think of yourself and what you think you are. Much of our attention is spent on the outside. We think about the offender, but not about the one offended. We miss the opportunity to take this into ourselves, to wonder, how come I am hurt be these words? What could possibly be hurt? There is a personal "I" being hurt. Does this "I" exist? Find out! love, zenji xxx
It is very difficult for me to find myself because often I find the one asking the questions is also being watched, if I am not asking the question "who am I" then who is ?
When there is a small gap or silence I find myself saying this must be "it" - this must be me, but again, something is watching "it", I am confused.
Even with this knowledge that I must be the watcher or the observer, where do I continue from there ? I feel stuck.
I only reached that state a few times. One time after exulting allnight on the Psy-trance floor I provocated myself so hard the next morning I couldn´t stand myself anymore, but I continued till suddenly ....everything dissappeared... no mind ..no thought ...just an incredible profond state of peace, freedom, love and happiness. Brandon Bays has described this perfectly in her book, I think it´s name in English is, "The Voyage"
@darkelad personally i'd advise making those small gaps of silence longer so your seeing can be more pronounced. Mooji doesn't focus of spiritual practice but I myself am a huge believer in the benefits of meditation in this regard.
@darkelad That "IT" will reveal itself when the consciousness playing as YOU is ready. All you need to do is keep nourishing the root and the flower will blossom by itself......
The best way is to remain quiet; dont react; dont think. To remain quiet means, remain in your natural position of the uninvolved witness of whats unfolding in front of you. If there is a strong reaction to whats being said, watch it. Let it be. Letting the storm take its natural course form the position of uninvolved witnessing breaks all ties with past. (Continued)
When the storm dies down inside of you, capacity will be there to follow up with the question who is hurt? Scan your being and find what it could possibly be. Remain quiet doesnt mean that you will endure any abuse. What it means is that you take a moment to step out of any habitual pattern. You have an association with this pattern, its personal. You want to defend yourself, you want to stick up for your rights, perhaps. (Continued)
