Can you blame the Cheyenne for retaliating? If your ENTIRE family, friends, community was MURDERED, wouldnt you want revenge? How were their actions wrong??
I like how this lady suggests that after a few whites were killed in Kansas, that Custer on his own accord, took his "military people" and went into Black Kettle's village to even the score. Can anyone say stupid? Custer was a military officer and was ordered to attck the village and stop the raiding. And it also must be pointed out that Custer was not even on the plains in the summer 1868. He was still serving out his court-martial. He was called back early to take part in the Washita campaign.
"Raiding" = politically correct name for slaughters, gang rapes, abduction of White men, women and children.
Clara Blinn was hostages of Cheyennes at Washita and was murdered with her baby. 120 Indian warriors were killed at Washita. This lesson is another bad propaganda. What a bunch of lies. Watch "Clara Blinn on Washita"
This is also propaganda, as the true circumstances of Clara Blinn's (and children's) capture is disputed. Historians disagree on which tribe is responsible - the Cheyenne are a possible suspect but the more aggressive Kiowa have been blamed and also the Arapaho... even their deaths are controversial, as they may have never even been to the Washita.
this is not true. Historian Michno's study of Clara Blinn's rapt has shown that she was found by a young boy in Black Kettle's village on November 7, 1868. 20 days before Custer's attack. She wrote a letter that is now famous.
Sand creek was in 1864 and Little bighorn1876
