@heyeveryoneimcool Precisely. I felt that CiV focused too much on the graphics and not enough on the actual gaming aspect. It got rid of the Stack of Doom we've come to love and adore. When I played the original Civilization, though, I found it was the absolute best of them all. I tend to like the old, 8-bit games better: the graphics have to suck, so you need to make an actually good game. I don't care about the graphics, anyways.
Lol comments are lol. Seriously, My entire experience with Star Trek is 2, maybe 3 episodes of The Next Generation, and even I know who Leonard Nimoy is. How the hell can you possibly not know?
Do you want a big performance boost in your pc games?
You should overclock your graphics card. You just need to tweak some simple settings, and you will get a huge boost in the quality, and the speed of your games! Get the guide which tells you how to do it, 100% free, 100% safe from:
This video is amazing. I recently got Civ 4 for the first time and when I played it, I adored Nimoy's narration. It just really feels like you are in school or something to hear his voice. This video is great too, though it feels like there should be a video here instead of a bunch of pictures.
@StoanPhrogg well i never played the first one but it sounded very simleir. even with eh MIDI songs. I also think you can hear some of the WE HAVE RESEARCHED (X) in the first one when you meet Ceaser in civ4.
@supeerme The theme sounds the same but instead of it being played by a PC Squeaker or an Amiga Midi synthesizer it sounds like it is a recording from an orchestra that played it. My hat goes off to this intro the best of the 5 Civs in my opinion. Wheras I didn't like Civ 5 much, crashed loads, the characters don't move (worse than Civ 1 IMO) and why can't I stack units anymore? Just out of interest I think they skipped over the bit between fire and meteors and the primordial soup.
Where in the game does this play? Because I have the complete version (vanilla Civ IV , the two expansions, and Colonization), and I don't recall this playing for me.
invasion of the body snatchers? but seriously i dont know one person who doesn't know who he is... people were brought up with there parents loving star trek etc... same how EVERYONE knows william shatner played captain kirk its just a fact...
Leonard Nimoy sounds like a constipated Morgan Freeman...

I absolutely love how they took the text and music from the Civ I intro, threw it on here, and had Leonard Nimoy read it. Epic!

And lack of this crap in CIV V is partially why I don't like the new installment.
heyeveryoneimcool 9 months ago 6
@heyeveryoneimcool this. Civ V lacks so much of the charm that made Civ IV great.

@RichGilly when you start a game a window pops up and seconds later it will say "play" or something, if you wait it will start this movie

The music is irritating, but Nimoy's narration definitely lends an air of gravitas!

Nimoy's narrations really, I mean REALLY added a great touch to the game. I hope they do narrations in Civilization 5.

Woah. This is the same song they used in Colonization. Which came 'round WAY before Civilization, from these guys... in fact, that's all I've played.

It plays when you start a game in "vanilla" Civ 4. Just don't click the button that says Play Game and you can see this video.
