Mexican Laws have it so you almost can't get a gun even if you are an elite member of high society. How can laws which clearly are not working be considered strong?

California Laws, DC Laws, Chicago Laws, All the ones related to guns have done nothing but make it so that the law abiding citizens were less safe. Same is happening in Mexico and the rest of the world where iANSA and Brady bunch say there are "Strong" gun laws. What's so strong about a law that only strengthens Criminals power?

Mexican law also allows you to purchase a standing army to protect you and your family IF you are wealthy enough. MOST of the guns taken were from families trying to illegally own a firearm to protect themselves.

Imagine you defend yourself with a firearm. Then, the police show up, arrest the you, take the guns, then leave. While he is being booked into the local jail.... your household is raped then killed. Also happens in Washington DC.

Helmke is just a talking head earning a fat paycheck. All the stats I've seen suggest less than 10% of illegal guns in Mexico come from the U.S.--and the reason the citizens can't fight off the criminals is because they've been disarmed. Duh!

Based on the numbers Cam read off on the show it's closer to 38.5% of the guns seized by the Mexican Government were traced by the BATFE. That doesn't mean they got to Mexico strait from the US or that it's anywhere near a clear view of the picture. The problem is Mexico doesn't give the information nor the guns over for ATF to do full traces and why would they it's their internal problem and our ATF isn't part of their government.

The reason that the Mexican government does not give the guns over is that they reissue them to the military... who sell them back to the drug dealers.

Yeah, now, lets ask why the drug cartels have huge reserves of money. It's NOT from the mexican citizens, they are mostly poorer than dirt. It's from OUR GOVERNMENT allowing the drug trade to flourish. The gun issue is the new administrations attmept to re-write the constitution to leave US unprotectded as well.

When the crime has no "lasting" consequences and is repeatedly easier and more profitable than legitimate work why would anyone who doesn't care about the law have any reason to obey it?

Guns in the hands of the good guys prevents crime. Guns in the hands of the bad guys causes crime. Just look at the violence at the Mexican border as proof. Maybe if Mexico had not taken away the good guy's ability to own guns then maybe there would't be a drug war. So if the anti gunners git what they what, which is for us to give up our Second Amendment, then the result wil be a huge increase in crime. Defend the Second Amendment, Join the NRA and/or contact your reps.
