I should explain myself. Xingyi is very linear, bagua is very circular. Quite apart from the palm change nature of his movements and a degree of waist rotation virtually absent from xingyi demonstrations. Very skilled, very fluid, excellent kung fu. Thanks very much for uploading!
I don't think this is xingyi, I'm fairly certain it is bagua, although clearly he has studied both. The majority of movements are certainly very bagua with very few movements one would expect in xingyi.
It is xingyi actually, animal xing. The circular movements come from Water strider/tortoise xing and Pan gen. Many Animal forms' long sets contains a lot of circular waist movements and steppings. His movement has the anjin expression going that makes it looks smooth like bagua.
Thanks for that, I have had less exposure to xingji, its very interesting that it can so smoothly transition to bagua-like styles. I love the way the big three internal arts focus on different aspects of the same underlying principles from different perspectives, I wish I had time to devote to this! Unfortunately there is no bagua or xingji and little good tai chi in my area. At least I have an exceptional shaolin teacher :) But I will need internal arts before I hit 35! ;)
