  • The Simpsons has out-lived them all. But I'd say that most of all I miss Married with Children and Parker Lewis.

A shame they couldn't do a spin-off of those two shows where Bud is Kelly's manager, who works for a modeling company, and is miserably married to his own wife who leeches off him, while Parker would be his best friend and neighbor, more or less happily married to Annie Sloan from the series, who gets Bud in and out of trouble. *sigh* It's fun to dream. >_>

  • @ChrisspacePatti No, COPS is still on too.

  • Comment removed

  • 0:33 Homer-sapien

    How prophetic.

  • generic early 90s beat

  • I'm so sad!! I was born in '95, and by the time I could appreciate good TV, it was too late!!

  • Let's see, Bart Simpson, Kelley Bundy (Christina Appelgate), Parker Lewis (Corin Nemec), Keenan Ivory Waynes, The guy that played Herman in Herman's Head, John Walsh, Peggy Bundy (Katey Sagal), Not sure who the black kid is, but I think the older woman is Dr. Ruth, Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill), Bud Bundy (David Faustino), Chris Elliott, Mikey from Parker Lewis (not sure the name), Homer Simpson, COPS, Marge Simpson, Wow. . .too many people to name. . .anyone else care to figure out who else is there?

  • @CFrench386 Oh yeah, Adam Jeffries (the black kid) and Nancy Walker (True Colors)

  • the 1910s owned bitches!!!

  • It's funny because only the Simpson are the one who still are aired from all the movies shown on the tv's! xD

  • this is like the area where the 80s and 90s meet

  • ItS oN FoX!

Whys the sound so fucked up

  • @thebigrene1972 uh ok man. If you want to feel nostalgic for a great depression ridden and antisemitic decade go ahead. By all means. Don't let me stop you

  • @thebigrene1972 over the 90's movies and especially music? I've heard people say they want live in the 50's, 70's, and 80's but never have I EVER heard anyone say 30's

  • @thebigrene1972 The 30's? really? any reasons for that?

  • so... much.... 90s!!!!

  • Painful.

  • I loved the 90s! I wish this decade is the 1990s! It would have been the greatest thing that would ever happen!

  • @SuperSonicVGExpert Thank you!

  • We all loved Fox until they became the rebirth of Hitler's propaganda machine...

  • @videoguy604 That Fox News, Fox Network doesn't share in their views.

  • @sarujo Didn't Fox Network get sued by Fox News a couple of times? And how can that work, since they are both owned by News Corporation?

  • @NGMan62 I never said it shouldn't. Instead I said the direction where the show headed.

  • @thebigrene1972 Fuck you.

  • @SuperSonicVGExpert

Both those shows suck compared to "The Critic" It was witty, funny, charming, and sometimes touching.

King of the hill was plain boring, and Family Guy is retarded

  • I don't think I was supposed to watch the Simpsons at age 9 but I did. I will 29 soon and I am still watching it. In Living Color on Sunday nights were the best.

  • the critic....they should have kept it

  • @SuperSonicVGExpert I know, Family Guy sucks now, reigned supreme from 1999-2002, then they brought it back in 2005 and has sucked since then.

  • all you niggas is niggas

  • @deadlydixiecup: Stop that.

  • the golden age of FOX

  • @Ohsta6t2 Bart was just more relatable to the kids than Homer (even though this wasn't meant to be a kids show in the first place). You can sell more Bart stuff. If you look at the first season the show was mainly focused on satirizing the typical dysfunctional family. Over the years it tried to stay topical so the focus wasn't on that anymore.

  • Wow, FOX has changed throughout the years. But, at least the Simpsons and COPS are still on. On the other hand, the Simpsons will be going away within a couple of years.

  • @picrob2000 Is this a fact? Any Proof?

  • @Ohsta6t2

"He was not better then anyway."

It's all subjective. His modern form is funny as hell, but I found his older personality more believable as a person you could actually meet in real life. I enjoyed the dynamic that he actually worried about what people thought of him and his family, and was always stressing out over status.

But most of all, even though he was dumb, he was believable as an ADULT, which made Bart's role as "problem child" more convincing than it is now.

  • @Ohsta6t2

You know, that's what people always say---that Bart was the main character at first. But it's not really not that true. Yes, Bart WAS the star as far as the media was concerned, and almost all of the merchandise was focused on him in the beginning. Definitely. But when you look at the actual stories themselves, Bart-centric plots didn''t have much of an edge over Homer-centric plots, and are outnumbered by Homer-centric combined with other characters' stories.

    So it's a stretch.

  • i love family guy too funny i was 10

  • the Simpsons isn't going off no time soon

  • In 1990, Fox was the network of the future. That's true today. When Conan joins Fox, they should revive this promo. NBC of course, has no future.

  • @godgundam10 NBC used to show Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Now I can't even fathom one show that can appeal in the same way that show did.

  • This old pink/cyan and striped clothing with dancing and ugh....

  • Fox sure was the stuff back then. The majority of the schedule was ruled by its former kids block during the daytime, then at night "The Simpsons" and other shows. I mean what happened to it now, I mean it was at the top of its game which it still is now, but it heavily relies on American Idol too much and shows crappy shows like Family Guy and American Dad. With cable competion coming from all directions and stealing the audience (USA, TNT), the network might as well transform itself into one.

  • WTH?

  • Christina Applegate at 0:52

Jim Carrey at 1:05. He got his start on 'In Living Color'.

  • This promo pretty much sums up the years 1989-1992.

  • Creepy.

  • omg that is so 90's

  • gyod now the only thing on fox is remakes of shit like family guy.

  • 100 rating

  • wat

  • HOLY SHIT I REMEMBER THIS SONG!

  • I remember this too! Along with the Simpsons, they showed the actors from 'Married with Children' and 'In Living Color'.

  • I remember when me and my sister would get excited when the simpson's came on. We tried to watch it at the laundromat when we were 5&7, but the bitch at the counter quickly changed the channel and said y'all can watch that at home, but turned around and let the little bebe' kids watch it. I'm so glad that I didn't know what prejudice was at that age.

  • Out of all those shows at 0:43, only The Simpsons and COPS are still on today.

  • Best show then, living color and the simpsons

  • Oh, man. That is classic late 80s/early 90s stuff right there. It's so lame it's awesome.

  • Its On TV-Phil! also a 2009 theme

  • Go 90s.

  • mmmmmmmmmmmm kelly bundy

  • is that jennie garth at 2:11?

  • Hey, can you find the lyrics to this, please?

  • NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!!!!

    FOX 58 For Yooooou!!

  • what is wrong with the sounds ?

  • Tape degradation over the years.

  • Wow. Back when Fox was cool lol.

  • in living color

  • this reeks of the 80's

  • lol, I remember seeing this and been watching The Simpsons seen FOX network started.

  • That was when FOX was good... Married with Children, Living Single, The Simpsons, Beverly Hills 90210... The good ol' days.

  • Ah yes the start of the Simpsons series, the 1989 Christmas special didn't count. I was only 2 in 1990.

  • I was born on that same day the Simpsons Christmas special premiered

  • I miss the 90's

  • Simpsons still Rock.

  • *sniff* Watching this makes me feel so depressed cause of how much I miss the days when The Simpsons were good and Family Guy didn't exist. Makes me wish I could just stay in the 90's forever.

  • I remember when The Simpsons premiered and I was quite a bit over 2 years..... *feels old* haha

  • God, I can't believe the Simpson turn 20 this year. It seems just like yesterday that FOX was this little fledgling network that could. 21 Jump Street, Married With Children, the Tracy Ullman Show, the Gary Shandling Show, Alien Nation. Good times, man. I remember after my mom found out Bart said "Damn" in an episode, she forbade me from watching the Simpsons. I had to sneek to watch it & got caught one night. She gave me the lecture of my life. lol

  • lol hahahahah!!! same with me man my mom said Bart had a smart mouth, but whenever I was caught watching the simpsons I got my ass whooped!

  • yeah, and we can't watch Fox because they own those chemical plants in Syria

  • They used to play this all the time on the orlando station.

  • Back when Homer Simpson was still a grumpy authoritarian. I actually like that character a lot better than what he's become since.

  • Me too!

  • @Marbles471

Plus that was back when Bart actually acted like a smart-alecky 10 year old rather than a Second City actor inside of a 10-year-old boy's body.

  • Fox needs to put good shows on again..

  • dont worry fox will get good again

  • yea i was 7 and already hooked.

  • i was only like a year old when this aired. but of course i grew up watching married with children, the simpsons, and in living color.

  • Same here lol fellow child of an era

  • 3 shows that were advertised then--Simpsons, Cops, AMW--are still on Fox 18 years later.

    Whoda thunk it?

  • @vjmlhds With Law and Order airing its final episode this week, they are now the only three prime-time shows from the time of this promo that are still airing new episodes on network TV.

  • @RySenkari

Add in Law and Order SVU and America's Funniest Home Videos (aka the original You Tube), and those are the only 5 non-news/news magazine shows on prime time network TV that debuted before 2000.

  • @vjmlhds 20years later now! wow 2 years since u typed that!

  • Fox still is cool.

  • shit dude i disagree..saturday lineup...cops sucks 2day(all they do is play them in cali, las vegas and florida)the shit gets boring.americas most wanted is awesome.sunday lineup..nothing is great about this lineup except family guy.on the weekdays the shows are just garbage except for bones and house..the point im trying 2 get @ is that fox is not still cool.wat u see on here is cool

  • Fox can be better.

  • But Fox was the #1 network for the first time in it's 22 years. That's an achievement for a network that still airs just fifteen hours of programming a week.

  • there are a lot of CRT TV in this, everthings LCD or plasma now, how things have changed in such a short time 1990 to 2008.

  • Yeah I'm viewing this on an LCD :^P

  • FOX's downfall began around the 2001-2002 season.

  • disagree that season produced '24' the greatest drama/thriller ever.

  • disagree that season produced '24' the greatest drama/thriller ever.

  • @NitekMuscle I have to disagree with that. FOX in '01 had fresh new comedies like Malcolm in The Middle, Bernie Mac, and Grounded For Life

  • @osaji922 Okay, Malcolm in the Middle, especially in its early seasons, kind of hearkened back to the edgy, high concept programming Fox had in the early 90s. Grounded For Life and Bernie Mac seemed like better fits for The WB (blah!).

  • @NitekMuscle It also had That 70's Show which was picking up steam in '01

  • Wow-1990. Fox has really changed their programming since then. I wish they would put more comedies on instead all of the reality show junk they have on now. I'm still upset that "Back to You" got canceled.

  • @parodypictures90 Back To You, which starred Kelsey Grammer was better than the show that he had on ABC that premiered last fall (forgot the name), but that did get cancelled also

  • @retrosam84 I don't know if it's true but I read somewhere that Kelsey Grammer had a hand in canceling his most recent sitcom because he didn't think it was funny. Maybe that story is just spin to save face, though.

  • watch fox comedies!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They suck, because of American Idol.

  • no we don't, we got fox8 and fox news

  • Network Ten did almost the exact same promo in 1992!

  • KMPH FOX 26 Visalia Fresno California

    WERE YOUR STATION

  • Wow, FOX was the best!

Brings back memories and makes me feel a hell of a lot older!

But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Whoever put this on YouTube, THANX!!!

  • rofl I love the Walter Matthau-esque voice of season 1 Homer ... nice time capsule here.

  • My family and I used to watch In Living Color together back in 1990. I am 26 now and I miss those days.

  • I do too (darn Fox getting the NFL, lol). I hope My Network TV produce some new episodes, I know they've started airing the best episodes from the show.

  • Well, MyNetTV does have kind of a throwback to the old FOX days come fall. WWE's Friday Night SmackDown is coming, first time any FOX outlet aired a WWE program in about 16 years (anyone remember when FOX picked up Saturday Night's Main Event?).

  • Man, Fox Needs To Bring This Theme Back!

  • As a News/Journalism Buff:

This was six years before Bill O'Reilly, Brit Hume, Shepard Smith and Geraldo Rivera all got together in one place - FOX News!

  • i knew i recognized that from somewhere!

  • I Loved The 2 Parts With The Simpsons.

  • Me Too.

  • Fox Kids adopted this promo for their own campaign

  • 'Hey, if you people enjoyed this' check out the Fox Promo entitled 'Cool like Us'! You'll love it!

  • ed o' neill + john walsh + chris elliot?

it's quite obvious that sex sells

  • Looks like this person copied it from tvark, so it is not their fault.

  • DUDE... I used to have this on VHS... I LOVE THIS CAMPAIGN...

But could I offer one constructive idea?

You hear those bursts of higher volume?? That's what the audio should sound like the whole way though...

IS THERE ANY WAY you could re-record this promo but adjust the tracking on the Videotape player? It's like the tracking is just a little bit off keeping the killer audio of the song from coming through.

But I love that you posted this anyway! AWESOME!
