He isn't stupid. They can chew thin paper like that. If you want to blame someone, the girl was pretty stupid for HANDING him the bag. Its obvious it was done on purpose. Thats sad you had to purposely do something, point blame at the animal and be too dumb to realize a Donkey is made to digest things like that.

Donkeys can chew up and digest coarse cellulose (such as paper) easily. It's probably more nutritious than some of the tough weeds they like to eat. I think it's pretty smart to outwit the monkeys who thought they could ration his treats.
