CANT NOT FUCKING WAIT XD only a year till my college course finnishes then off i go to the RM! the training looks tough but thats whats gunna make me a better man
That water tunnel looks scary as hell, I would love to go into the marines but girls arent allowed. Can't wait to get in the army though. Big respect to the RMC those boys are awesome!!!
I was given the opportunity to do this, no kit, just rugby shirt and trousers, it was dry so the sheep dip was not too muddy... I was still sick everywhere at the end of it. fucking hard
Just passed my PRMC. That run was hard and I didn't even have to do it with gear and a time limit. If you're attending a PRMC soon just don't stop jogging on this and they can't fail you for it. And when he asks you if you want to give up before the 4 mile run back to camp say no; he's bullshitting
im hoping to join the marines after 11 months of cancer treatment and considering making a step by step video showing my preperation for it , hoping it might help others in my position, and if i fail, then maybe some "how not to tips"
im posting this comment on some well watched videos to test the audience
gimme a thumbs up if its something you guys would like to see, or thumbs down if it sounds far to depressing
During my UOTC's Annual Camp this summer, we were given the opportunity to complete this obstacle course but without the kit, wearing just overalls and boots (and no 4 mile run).
The obstacles are easy to manage but the running in between, soaked through to the skin, is hard to cope with. Great comic relief at the end however, upon seeing a group of cadets who finished after us covered head to toe in the red mud.
Maximum respect to all those who have complete the entire Endurance Course.
@southernairsofter wouldn't say that. You should really read up on USMC history. the USMC has never retreated in battle and are known to fight to the death. Churchhill him self said how he admired the U.S Marines and he said that back in 1930's before being prime minister. I would really read up on USMC history before making a comment like that.
also the ROk Marines are very very good. they are considered the little brother of the USMC and are mean fighters.
damn, their training is way harder than US marines training. i met several british marines in afghanistan, all of them were impressive people. US marines accepts prettymuch anyone these days... i wish america had something like the royal marines.
@halwaymonitor British forces are proffessionlised in order that it could be shrunk. It is why so many of its 'ordinary' units are considered an elite force (RM, Para, RAF) and why the elite branches (SAS, SBS etc) have to be so much better. It isn't bragging, its just how it is. The US on the other hand has different responsibilities, those taken over from us when we had the biggest army. You get the power, you also get the responsibility.
@halwaymonitor - The Royal Marines training regime is pretty awesome and they turn out some top soldiers, alot of whom go on to serve in special forces but the US Marines are still a top mob. Their battle honours, especially in the Pacific in WW2 speak for themselves

@1stLordtheAdmiralty then that means that the royal marines are a total failure right ?have some respect US marines are not the just 13 weeks thats very ignorant to say and another thing longer training doesnt mean better
@yandykun The us marines are infantry.if YOU decide to join the us marines as a recruit you will be trained as a normal infantry soldier if you join the royal marines you will be trained as a COMMANDO.All i'm doing is just pointing out the difference between a u.s marine and royal marine
@1stLordtheAdmiralty 13 WEEKS is just the first phase u gain the title after bootcamp but that is just the begining of becoming a marine after bootcamp u have to go to SOI it can be from 3 months to 6 months it depends
@yandykun Bootcamp is your recruitment training to be a marine we have 32 weeks commando training to become a marine then when you pass you go onto more training as you would in the usmc or any other fighting force but your basic training in the usmc is 13 weeks
@1stLordtheAdmiralty after they earn the green beret they go to their permanent base of course they still gotta train they have to maintain their conditioning but it's an obligation for US marines to go SOI and who told u that longer training means better ?look at the spetnaz they train even longer than these marines and it's bullshit taht's not gonna stop a bullet

it is open to all cap badges, as long as your parent unit will allow you to take part.. alot of units dont feel that they benefit from sending individual soldiers though, and therefore dont send them. The course mainly consists of artillery (29 commando regiment) and engineers (59 Commando Squadron, 24 engineer regiment) and REME, but on my course we had an RMP lad (who went on to pass) and a lad from the Army Air Corps ( who later was RTU'd).

Ok, but that was waaaaaaaaaaay back then. US lead the way for modern marines, UK came up with the marines when battle positions meant lining up and marching towards the enemy hoping not to get shot XD
They are based on the Royal Marines. If you look back to the American Revolution, the entire colonial military was based on that of the British, obviously they would be because of they were after all, colonies of Britain. Around this time the USMC was formed, based on that of the Royal Marines formed over 100 years before. The colonial regular military of the time was almost a carbon copy of the Brits, right down to the uniforms(except for the colour of course).
@UberDude85 kind of wrong there. in fact Continental Army was mostly Prussian Trained. in fact the Famous war college known as West Point was set up by a Prussian Officer.
also Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, He is credited with teaching the Continental Army the essentials of military drill and discipline, helping to guide it to victory.
@UberDude85 Where did you read that? I am unaware of that. As far as i know Baron Von Steuben from Germany is responsible for turning the colonial troops into a viable fighting force. Please elaborate.
@The4LA2Baker0 Yes, I know of Baron Von Steuben, I'm merely saying that the concept of the marines itself was British. The Royal Marines have been around since 1664
@UberDude85 Actually, the American military was based on the French. The French trained and assisted the USA against the UK. This includes the Marines.

the US marines came over to lympstone once and competed against the royal marines turns out the US marines couldnt even complete the first of the 4 tests
i just did this (im only 15) cant imagin having to do it with the 32 pound webbing and wepeon and they dont mention that you have a half mile run through the camp the you have to hit 6/10 targets on the shooting range all in 72 MINITS!! he endurance course it self is 2 miles long one of the hardst things ive ever done (oh and the dont show you the bt wre you havet to run down hills and cover your self in mud ) :)
I did the Endurance course with some Royal marine Commandos. It was very enjoyable. If any of you want to join the Marines, i suggest the 'Look at Royal Marine life' course :) I enjoyed it a lot :)
The water tunnel is about 1.5 meters to 2 Meters long id say - its piss easy going through, actually its quite nice when you go under cos everything goes silent and you just relex and let yer buddies push and pull you through
No its got to be completed within 72 minutes or an hour and twelve minutes.Other way around, and this selection goes back to ww2,when some army commando unit smerged with the Royal Marines. This was the corps that landed at Norway and at Dieppe and fought outstandingly then and still to now.
3 mile run on prmc is not done with gear you mong. you really think they are going to take civvies from the street chuck a burgen on them and say get running. If your thinking of joining the marines you should get some research in lad.
im joing the marines when i leave school i hope i pass it as like 99.99% dont pass the course as marines is one of the hardst to join along wid the S.A.S at the top any one that might wont to know you have be able run 1.5miles in 12 mins then another 1.5 in just under 10 mins so 3 miles in 22 mins may soiund easy but its with gear
quote from YOU: "hen there not and we DONT have good equipment"
moron. our armour tears as the plates move around - us ones do not move around inside, theyalso cover more of your body. fuck up man your in denial about how shit our soldiers equipment is.
HAHA fucking hilarious, are you in the US army? No? thought not. US army get issued equipment. That's vest, armor, gun, and other things. THEY CAN buy their own, and many do, as do British Soldiers/Marines do.
How i know? I'm good friends with an ex 82nd Paratrooper, that's how i know. What's your source of information? youtube?
nope the US army and marines do not have to pay for indavidual vests. fact. also, ours are not, ours are shit, they rip and tear becuase the material is cheap and the armour is too bulkey.
ur argument is shit. you cant even put a sentence together.
the german military are better equiped its a fact, the body armour is up to date, ours is shit and moves around when you run, is buly wich gets in the way durung combat. our helmets do not FIT as they are poorly designed and over priced our uniforms are usless and made from cotton and lack proper attatchments.
you obviously dont know much. we also dont have the 2nd army budget thats just bullshit im sure china and the US have MUCH larger ones, that could probabally BUY the UK.
had some good laughs on this when i wasnt hanging out, some knobber through a pen in a bush so we had to drag him up a hill with us by his legs, the sheep dip is about 4ft long, all the tunnels and crap on the endurance course are there to test your mettle, not so much to tire you out, just glad the SLR is gone, all i ever get from my dad is how much of a bastard it was to get through the smarties tube when your 6ft 2" trying to fit an SLR in with it in your sleeve to keep the mud out.
Done this few days ago on PRMC it is fucking horrendous lol

The water tunnel is about 1.5 meters to 2 Meters long id say - its piss easy going through, actually its quite nice when you go under cos everything goes silent and you just relex and let yer buddies push and pull you through
dynamicz108 2 years ago
They've changed the water tunnels so there not as long + the 1's were u crawl under are only 4inchs deep or watever.
jameslavz 2 years ago

michaelkrois 2 years ago 2
No its got to be completed within 72 minutes or an hour and twelve minutes.Other way around, and this selection goes back to ww2,when some army commando unit smerged with the Royal Marines. This was the corps that landed at Norway and at Dieppe and fought outstandingly then and still to now.
MarineAqua45 2 years ago
thats the way royal marines do it lol
thisguyssosick 2 years ago 3
u dont do the endurance course on prmc.

3 mile run on prmc is not done with gear you mong. you really think they are going to take civvies from the street chuck a burgen on them and say get running. If your thinking of joining the marines you should get some research in lad.

frazerw16 2 years ago 3
Sorry to piss on your fire adonkeykong, but the 3 mile runs is done in shorts and tshirt, its still hard though :)
Squint1987 3 years ago
no it aint , its done in full gear
stenrui 2 years ago 2
Yeah hes right. I've been to Lympstone mate and done training with the Royal Marines through cadets. Its done in full gear.
JakeubLegend 2 years ago
The PRMC is not done in full kit. You don't get issued webbing and bergen for a 4 day course.

Think he's talking about the PRMC probably.
Which is easy.
Seany06 2 years ago
i did it in full gear, only on teh PRC is it done in shorts and tshirt.
marcnsparx 2 years ago
in the PRMC it is done in trainers. when you repeat it later in training , however it is done with boots
Vexx560 2 years ago
The Royal Marines Endurance Course is never done in trainers, whether it's prc, prmc or the commando phase.
DannyFoden 2 years ago
i was replying to somebody talking about the 3 mile run. not the endurance course
Vexx560 2 years ago
im joing the marines when i leave school i hope i pass it as like 99.99% dont pass the course as marines is one of the hardst to join along wid the S.A.S at the top any one that might wont to know you have be able run 1.5miles in 12 mins then another 1.5 in just under 10 mins so 3 miles in 22 mins may soiund easy but its with gear

HI MUM !!
brennanoriginal 3 years ago
quote from YOU: "hen there not and we DONT have good equipment"
moron. our armour tears as the plates move around - us ones do not move around inside, theyalso cover more of your body. fuck up man your in denial about how shit our soldiers equipment is.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
lol your such an idiot, you lie about being in the RMC and i do know my stuff, i had, what is known as "an education" - if you've ever heard of that.
i wonder how high...or how low you can count.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
how about you learn to SPELL first you fucking liar.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
HAHA fucking hilarious, are you in the US army? No? thought not. US army get issued equipment. That's vest, armor, gun, and other things. THEY CAN buy their own, and many do, as do British Soldiers/Marines do.
How i know? I'm good friends with an ex 82nd Paratrooper, that's how i know. What's your source of information? youtube?
BMXUK123 3 years ago
We are also the Best trained army in the world thats a Fact.
lHoodlum 3 years ago
nope the US army and marines do not have to pay for indavidual vests. fact. also, ours are not, ours are shit, they rip and tear becuase the material is cheap and the armour is too bulkey.
ur argument is shit. you cant even put a sentence together.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
looks like you dropped out of high school
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
the german military are better equiped its a fact, the body armour is up to date, ours is shit and moves around when you run, is buly wich gets in the way durung combat. our helmets do not FIT as they are poorly designed and over priced our uniforms are usless and made from cotton and lack proper attatchments.
you obviously dont know much. we also dont have the 2nd army budget thats just bullshit im sure china and the US have MUCH larger ones, that could probabally BUY the UK.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
Done This :) you do alot more though when your there, what is shown is a quick version, there are more tunnels and lots more running etc...
MikeBellini 3 years ago
I am from Germany ... does that count since I am in the EuropeanUnion ?
CrimsonBlade170388 3 years ago
i think you can join the royal marines if you have been based in the uk for like 3-5years or something like that
clnotty 3 years ago
Can you join them if ur not British?
Would like to take some of those hardcore stamina tests to see how I would do and then challenge myself to do better xD
Somebody have an answer for this please tell me ;)
CrimsonBlade170388 3 years ago
You can join if your country is part of the British Commonwealth like australia or the African countries like Kenya for example
bikechainz19 3 years ago
I am from Germany ... does that count since I am in the EuropeanUnion ?
CrimsonBlade170388 3 years ago
unfortunatley not, you would need to aply for citizenship, wich isnt too hard.
my advice my friend is, join the bundeswehr, they are better equiped than we british.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
I would never change my citizenship for something like that ... I'm proud to be German xD
Does the Bundeswehr have a good training Program?
CrimsonBlade170388 3 years ago
hehe, niether would I. Yes the German army is very proficiant, modern etc.
ShitMovies2000 3 years ago
you can also if you are from jamaca

had some good laughs on this when i wasnt hanging out, some knobber through a pen in a bush so we had to drag him up a hill with us by his legs, the sheep dip is about 4ft long, all the tunnels and crap on the endurance course are there to test your mettle, not so much to tire you out, just glad the SLR is gone, all i ever get from my dad is how much of a bastard it was to get through the smarties tube when your 6ft 2" trying to fit an SLR in with it in your sleeve to keep the mud out.
