@disturbthepeace100 Wikipedia: The Lipizzan or Lipizzaner, is a breed of horse closely associated with the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria. The earliest predecessors of the Lipizzan originated in the 7th century when Barb horses were brought into Spain by the Moors and crossed on native Spanish stock. The result was the Andalusian horse and other Iberian horse breeds
@disturbthepeace100 Lusitano, PRE, etc...come Andalusian horses too. Wikipedia: The Lusitano is a Portuguese horse breed, closely related to the Spanish Andalusian horse. Both are sometimes called Iberian horses, as the breeds both developed on the Iberian peninsula, and until the 1960s they were considered one breed, under the Andalusian name. Wikipedia: The Andalusian, also known as the Pure Spanish Horse or PRE (Pura Raza Española), is a horse breed developed in the Iberian Peninsula...
I worked for a whille for a horse-based cirque-like show called Cavalia. the horses did classical dresage, liberty dresage and other tricks in a circus tent, with a rowdy crowd, living in tents and corrals by busy shopping centers and freeways etc all over the country. They can adjust to anything! Better than people do, too. When horses are frightened, it is from a lack of mental/social conditioning.
My dad wouldn't let me go to that when it was in Michigan cause he didn't think it would be worth it until I showed him a bunch of videos and now he wishes he would have gone.
i have been to the World Famous Lippazan Stallion show, in Wilmar, MN... i thought it was the most AMAZING thing ever! I have horses myself.. but nothing like these guys, mine are just Quarter Horses, but i DO love my boys. lol
hope you enjoyed the show, i thought it was amazing!
I believe this horses name is Conversano Belladona. The horses are named from their father and their mothers. There are only so many sire lines and they all have different brandings! The lippizaners are pretty cool, but I like the School of Vienna tour, because it's the classic Lippazanner riding. These guys ride with stirrups, really at the school they don't use them. I still loved the World Tour though!!!! AWseom!
Her name is Carina. And what I mean by rescue horse is that she and a few other horses had been neglected and we helped some other people rescue them. In the end, we got Carina.
A swing dancing Andy!! Woohoo!! Don't remember what they played when I saw the show but Sing, Sing, Sing is my fave to dance to and Andalusians are my fave horse breed. Perfect combo.
How is it pissing the horse off? The horse shows no signs of distress, and if anything, looks like he's enjoying his work as well as the clapping and praise he's getting.
Again, he doesn't look pissed off at all. If he were pissed off, his ears would be pinned all the way back and his tail would be swishing. The way the horse is now, it looks like he's listening to his rider and responding to the rider's cues.
hmm i think what u are seeing is the horse listenin to the riders commands.. his skip was his next task if anything the horse didnt quite get the right signal from his rider..
these kind of show horses are trained to ignore the crowd. it realyl doesnt bother them at all. trust me ive seen this horse perform at multiple expos and shows he doesnt get annoyed.
Though the horse person in me says it's all training to cues... it sure seems like the horse is into the music. Have missed Herrmans Lipizznaer's coming in the area the past couple years... *hats off* to a great man... and a great breed of horse.
I'm sure the horse actually IS into the music. Most horses enjoy their work, and, believe it or not, the music they work to as well. My old horse had her own taste whenever I rode to music. It was quite funny. :]
Lovely horse, only i noticed that its not tracking up. You would think at that level of riding the horse would have been doing it for years, its a basic priority.
Often horses at this level don't track up only when doing such advanced maneuvers like tempis, and piaffs, which require extraordinary amounts of collection. I would bet a lot of money these horses are quite capable of it when asked to move more forward.
when they dribble/spit/foam it is because they are accepting the bit. The metal causes the horse to salivate more than usual and when a horse is accepting the bit it chews on the bit. I believe that is the right explination. Correct me if im wrong anyone...
it's right, what you said. special bits with parts of copper and iron let the horse chew and salivate because of the taste. but if you're a good rider, you don't need copper and iron bits, only normal ones.
I've seen more videos that are from this show on YouTube. It's really not that big of a deal, honestly. You're the one going through them all saying "THIS PROHIBITS VIDEO!" when honestly, nobody cares. Besides, it's a CLIP of the show. Not the whole thing, and I'm not reselling for profit. :)
Reselling for profit has nothing to do with violating copyright. Just to let you know. On the other hand, I'm glad you uploaded this. [g] Besides, sometimes it helps to see part of a show or video, to encourage people to see/buy. I've seen parts of things on youtube that I end up buying (or seeing at shows)
Andalusian horses is the real name of the breed...I am proud to be Andalusian :D

I saw that show in St. Charles, Missouri.
I have a video of the same routine, just not uploaded to YouTube yet. I thought they finished at the bow so I completely missed the Capriole.
Did anyone else catch on they called a leg yield a half pass?
