The thing that makes me upset is the fact that Obama says that he is African American. He does have a white Mother. If anything, he is a "Mulato" President. He never talks about the white side of his heritage. He always talks about how proud he is to be African American. Does anyone remember Ross Perot's speech to the NAACP where he said "you people"? He clearly did not intend to convey racist sentiment, yet they went ballistic. Now, imagine if a white politician had said, "A typical black person". Obama made a mistake that most mature adults know would not make, much less a politician. Alsoaren't "white" people very diverse? "White" people come from different linguistic and religious backgrounds. Orthodox Slavs (Russians, Serbians) Catholic Slavs (Croatians, Poles) Muslims (Albanians) Romance Language peoples (French, Italians) German Laguage peoples (Swedes, Danes)  Celtic peoples (Irish, Scots, Welsh). My grandmother lived in small southern town with a lot of black people and she never had to fear them in all her years. People just werent as mean back then. She was a sweet person and all the black folks there loved her. Im not sure why Obama thinks his is experience is accurate. Why would a grandmother say deragatory statements around her grandson knowing he is half black? I have interacial children in my family and no one would dare utter negative things about their race around them.

Also my grandmother was never afriad of black people and she was 93 years old when she died.
