There's a very funny parady of this on the Fast Show ... in fact the reverse parody would be funny too, i.e. Bridget Bardot saying "Does my bum look big in this?"
What happenend to european cinema? Ever since the great masters passed on we are left with the same films being made over and over again, or genre pieces to appeal to the masses. I know that there are some innovators still, but Godard was right on his prediction, although like Nostradamus, he was a little early, 40 years perhaps.
@filmfanatic99 - it seems to be the same as for anything else - there's some core people that do things, and justnow for example, what those same souls are doing won't be known of in any mainstream anything - by the time it gets picked up on standardised and copied, those people will be doing something else in some other area.
hahaha.....hahaha.....that is funny. hahaha.....still laughing. to enjoy it, you have to buy into the pretense of this art or you love Godard. by the way, i like this scene. the lighting is beautiful and the music, more beautiful. it is quite lovely.
Yes, means really a lot to mee too. If you want to find this music, the only way it is to buy the original soundtrack of "Casino" the Scorsese film. tnx for the subscription. ciao
I love the music (originally composed for the film in this version) and the dialogue: they know their love is gonna end but they're telling each other love words. I know Godard will kill me for that description.

@filmfanatic99 have you seen any of Gaspard Noé's work? Irreversible, Carne, they're pretty good.

What a perfect scene... I keep wanting to re-watch it because of the song Contempt by the Books, they do a great job putting this scene into a song

It's more a hate scene than a love scene, she gets bored of him, he doesn't challenger her, that's what the movie is about...

CANNARINASSASINA 4 years ago
gabrieleclub 4 years ago
Ponti? il produttore di aceto?
CANNARINASSASINA 4 years ago

Yes, especially the music, in this case I think it's really a part of the film, a part of the meaning of this film.
