the drawing system was kinda cool but I really liked the magic equipping system cause you can make any char a job class in your own way I only have squall with draw and items to use no gf and for his stats just put the magic on the stats that would look like stats for a fighter class and so on with the other chars how I do it lol

im this game has INCREDIBLE music and charecter depth and a great storyline but i wouldnt go as far as to say this game was the best final fantasy lol. The weapon system was basically non existant, the junction system had its highlight by failed with the whole draw magic stack x100 and put that in a stat. 2nd fav ff game just behind ff6 imo :) ff7 = 3rd :p

RE: attack and recover strategy: maybe I wanted to try something different. I admit it's not as good as using magic, but recover bypasses things such as reflect and shell. Not only that, you can use it as many times as needed and it works like an X-potion, healing you completely.

I loved final fantasy 8s' Boss battles. You read the little text and you stand there for about 10 minutes, then you start overusing Gf's since you can use them more than once like you culdn't in 7. Then they hit you with a much faster attack that does more damage.

@MrKeyblademaster1992 hum let see...Tiamat only has 1 attack: Dark Flare...and Dark Flare is an Fire/Wind/Thunder elemental attack so...just equip Element Defense vs 1 of the 3 elements and Dark Flare is absorbed......................­........Tiamat is just a cool looking boss thats all, no real challenge:P

I'm part of the newer generation of final fantasy (like 7-13, didn't play 11 or 12.). imo these are the tops.

1. final fantasy 8(enough said)

2. final fantasy 9(enough said)

3. final fantasy 10 (this is when final fantasy got linear, but still a great game)

4. final fantasy 7 (great game, but overrated, the top 3, kill this one.)

5. final fantasy 13 (linear like 10. the battle system, makes you get your ass kicked. should have played like kingdom hearts. the story isn't all that great.)

i really wanted to like this game....i really wanted to......squall was easily one of the coolest FF characters around

but the annoying and tedious junction system, the drawing magic from monsters, and the ridiculously small timing for the trigger attacks killed it for me...mostly the junction system...hated that thing with a passion.

FF8 just overcomplicated things and made alot of it so tedious to the point where it just wasn't fun for me, i never even bothered to continue after ifrit.
