Fabfilter, Flux, Soundtoys & Slate are light years ahead of UAD IMHO. UAD=spending countless hours precisely replicating outdated gear for old-schoolers. Don't even care.
@wikkidthings the outdated gear for old-schoolers - as you call it are still used in every high end studio where all your favorite music and albums are recorded and mixed.
And SoundToys plugins basically models "old school" harmonic distortion of tape recorders, tube preamps, they modeled their fx/delay plugin after eventide h3000 harmonizer. .
All nice and well, but can it do Through Zero Flange like the real classic sounds of the 70's?

It's funny how all the emulations get us closerto recreating the 70's sound, but music more and more sounds far from it.
