Well, I never would have guessed you had braces, let alone for so long. One of the first things I noticed when we met at Leakycon was you had a great smile! I had my own for 2 years, then they took them off, then put them back on for another 2. Kudos to you for sticking it out through all that time!

@PastaRoni97 yeah there was a while when I just had a retainer behind me teeth. Most kids have braces like 6th/7th grade, that's when I didn't have them. I first got braces with I was 6 or 7 we're not sure, it was sometime 1999. I say I started January 1999 because that's when we first did stuff, I think it was spacers or something at that point. Phase two started late 7th grade until now :)

@SaphireInk good luck! I have to warn you, even if they say "18" months that what they tell everyone who isn't too bad, plan for a year and then be surprised if you get them off sooner. Clear is fun, so are colors! When I was a kid the only good thing about braces was supposed to be fun colors for holidays and I had lame daemon brackets that were just silver lol <3

When I was a kid my parents decided against it then later on for "phase two" I choose more braces because I was used to it, but surgery is a find option if you're not terrified of hospitals! you'll recover wayyy sooner. message me if you ever want to talk about it :)

@hollythomas211 it was more of a jaw problem, my jaw is uneven and they needed to correct my pallete as I was growing. I had a lot of things that trained my bite, I've had straightish teeth for years they just didn't go together. It was complicated. message me if you want to talk more about it :)

@CuppyCupCake09 it depends on how bad your teeth are. but i have something that they put in your mouth for overbites instead of rubber bands and that takes like 5 days to get use to, so for 5 days i just ate spagettie o's. and once you can finally chew you dont really notice you have braces (except for having food in your teeth) and i have the 2 year time and it cost about 2 thousdand dollars, but it will be all worth it!! I hoped that helped?

@CuppyCupCake09 Thanks! I was SOO scared it was going to hurt a lot I took 4 advils and these natural muscle relaxers (for my jaw, I have TMJ) and it still hurt, but not as bad as I thought it would. My gums feel really raw though.

Thing I learned: when they say "pinch" they mean poke and it might bleed.

but you'll get used to it!

idk how much two year ones cost, sorry, my treatment was figured out so long ago I don't think there were payments, I certainly got my $'s worth! XD

I hate braces. They're super expensieve and cause speech impediment. They also caused the oil spill in the Gulf and 9/11 (jk). And its kind of a ripoff cause it goes back to being crooked after a few years.
