It has slow response because it doesnt have a plenum. Also the M3 donor of those ITBs came with it, and if you want extra performance you get a different plenum attached to some Alpha-N kit. No M3 runs with free throttle bodies, also because they would suck in the engine anything, and would just get hot hair from behind the radiator. If you don't believe this, I am 100% sure you have a chrome mushroom filter in your engine bay.

Purpose of this: this is clearly a race car, hence... performance!

@Mightymini2k ITB setups very typically have slow tip-in or partial throttle response. ITB's are for wide open power. If you're after streetability, try a plenum with a single throttle body and MAP/MAF sensor.

Tapping is normal for M20s.

no its not fella ;) they should sound like there bubbling along if ur m20 taps u want to have it adjusted and it will run a tone smother and sound like a new motor there not hard to do either noticed a massive diff when i done mine and they wernt that audable either in the 1st place.

no vavle train should tap slap clap what so ever if it does it needs atention somewhere along the line

i aint going to town on u m8 but its a common misconception that its ok to have a tapping valve train :)

Is it the injectors that tap then? I know its normal for the M20 to make some kind of tapping.

cant say 4 sure but its a possiblity if there very worn

if u run a injector through a Pulse Width Modulator and listen to it runng on, off, on, off etc ill garentee ull here it opening and shuting but while its on the motor with the rest of the abient noise i couldnt say 4 sure

come to think of it i do recall a light metalic tone that i couldnt eliminate perhaps it was the injectors never considered them b4 now humpf who knows :D

sorry fella mine litteraly did not sound like a sewing machien in fact i could hear the sound of the timing belt intersecting the cam cog clearer than any tapping besides where not talking about an M30

@unluckykid256932 "Tapping is normal for M20s" No. Standard engine in good condition does not have top end tapping, these were among the quietest and smoothest engines in their day. This tuner has probably set the valve clearances wider due to high lift camshaft, high temp compensation or avoiding valve bounce. It might be running non original rocker arms. If a standard M20 is "tapping" you have a worn camshaft, worn rockers and/or excessive valve clearances (should be 0.3mm at running temp).

yes, they are welded to a cut-off stock intake. Injectors are from E46 330i.

i know that, i didnt see the part about this bein from sweden. I wasnt even asking about that, im asking what intake does he have coming out of the block, because that doesnt look like s50 runners, im guessin its the stock m20's which seems odd because it seems that you wouldnt get much gain because the intake runners are still small.

You're right. The US spec s50 uses the m50 intake but the Euro version uses ITB's :)

Yes, it is coil on plug. The coils are from VW/Audi 1,8T.

They would be no problem to use on an M30 of course, you just need an aftermarket ECU and some ingenuity. You can get the coils from eBay.
