  • Likely starts in 2-3 pulls now. Love these yammies

Check out my FB page "Enticer Snowmobiles"

  • is that the deluxe edition? iv got a 79 enticer 340 and i was just wondering if you could get gauges for it or if thst was strictly for the deluxe

  • @15eric2008 no this isn't the deluxe. the gauges must've been optional cause I've seen some ET's without them

  • @PowerRider16 oh alright..finding parts for this sled is a biotchh..atleast in ohio

  • We have a 1980 Yamaha Enticer, it is kind of a maroon, but kind of purplish. Looks great with the striping and starts within 3 pulls usually.

  • dont pull it many times because i have a yamaha et 250 with a Destroyed starthouse

im gona buy a polaris trail

im gona buy a polaris trail

  • Sweet I use to have one but mine was black

  • How much for the gauges?

  • just sell it... so it wont sit there and rot for another year

  • @Polaris98ify i am going to sell it. I'm bringing it back home next week to do some work on it, take a few last rides, and get it up for sale. and for anybody who reads this, send me a message if you're interested. I already have one guy interested in it but if he decides against it whoever's next in line will be contacted.

  • I have a '78 I got for free - All I did was replace the spark plugs & fuel lines. It starts on the 3rd pull most every time. These sleds rock and take all the abuse you can throw to them. THANKS YAMAHA!!!!

  • @franksfunfarm for sure! these sleds were known for being sooo friggin reliable.....kinda like the honda civic of sleds......and yamaha invented the oil injection system on these....no more mixing oil/gas in a jarry can.

  • i have 1 they NEVER DIE!! i saw a guy try to blow out the engine... he gave up because the sled wouldnt die so he gave up..... the only reason he tryed to is bc he had alot of stuff broken...

  • nice sled

    how much?

  • @loooopyman1 thanks. i don't remember how much we paid we got that like 7 years ago i think it was like 250 but we did some restoring on it ourselves and then paid a mechanic to do the rest

  • nice sled

  • poor spider

  • @xDlPwnzorlxD LOL

  • Nice sled!

  • those little buggers are THE BEST!. my cousin crashed one and it still works, but i need a new windsheild.

  • best sleds in the WORLD i miss mine

  • U think thats starting it up easy? buddy, clean your motor. piece by piece, not jus "nests". I got the exact same machine, a few people here do. 5-6 months without bein fired up, frozen in the canadian arctic, if the pistons are polished and the whole thing sparkles, we get it fired up in -30c weather buried under 3 ft of snow

  • In the past two weeks, I have picked up a 1980 Enticer Excel III and a 1987 Excel III. Even though I own bigger sleds, I just love these little Enticers. Parts are interchangeable throughout 10 years of sleds. Cheap parts everywhere on E-Bay and Craiglist, and they seldom break. Just belts, hoses, and plugs. They provide a ton of fun for the dollar!

  • vintage sleds rule

  • Ditto!

  • Nice little sled in its day!

  • @lowflyingcessna You mean "nice little sled still today". I buy EVERY Enticer I can find and get my hands on, for a reasonable price. I use them for sleds for my kids and for guests who want to snowmobile that don't own sleds. I cannot remember the last time an Enticer stranded me, and I can count many times that my big bucks sleds were down and I drug one of the Enticers out of the barn, and it served me for the rest of the winter. I literally have an emotional soft spot for these sleds.

  • lol yeah all the late 70's to early 80's sleds rule they're so dependable but so are my indy 500's

  • @lowflyingcessna No. Nice sled, still today.

  • great old snowmachine, my child hood buddy had one, damn thing went 85MPH and raised hell.

  • I might buy two enticers for 650. do you think its worth it?

  • if you're into vintage stuff yeah go for it but if you want fun sleds spend the 650 on a 90's polaris indy

  • i just sold one for 600. still have one left....if you get two for 650 its a good price

  • got any tricks on getting those skids back in? mine is nothing but problems...love the sled though....i'm getting real tired of workin on 30 year old marchines

  • what's a skid? here we don't call any part of the sled a skid. you mean the plastic pieces on the bottom of the rails for the rear suspension? here we call those slides and i've never had them out but there's a tool you can buy where to get em back in you put one of the holes in the track behind them, get them started on the rail, and then just push with this tool (why you'd need a tool for that i don't know but maybe it helps)

  • ok the skid is the undercarrage...i know what sliders are....you only need a rubber mallet to get um off and on

  • oh ok well no i've never taken one off. i've just taken off bogie wheels from early 70's sleds

  • Awesome, i have one of these, a 1980 Yamaha ET 250, a Ski- Doo Olympic 340

  • thanks and i've got a 71 olympic 399

  • things only runnin on 1 cylinder guy

  • it might sound like it but that's just the way those sound don't ask me why and yeah it's not running good as you can see when i rev it up but it just needs general tuning it's always sounded like that even after being fully serviced by a mechanic with a great rep and it ran good after that but it's been neglected for a while

  • yeah haha, started up my old puma the other night, sounded identical. worried me tin il pinned it. haha

  • i had the same sled

  • These things were fun as hell and were fast for a 340.

  • yeah back in the day i guess they were fast for a 340 and it's a nice light sled it's fun when you want a change from the heavy super fast stuff

  • Aye, these sleds didn't wear you out after an hour or two like my current sled does. They are perfect for when you just want to rip around and have a good time.

Super easy to pull over too!

  • i got a 1984 starts 1st pull evey time knock on wood

  • thats the first enticer that i've seen in the best shape ever nice vid keep riding that old donkey lol

  • hey thanks!

yeah and that's not even the best shape it will be in cause i gotta put the windshield on it and clean it up and someday i might do a full resto job on it.

  • OO SMELL THAT 2 year old gas MMMM :D

  • lol actually the gas was only about 1 year old, and this actually used up what gas was left lol that's why i didn't drive it around

  • oohh ahaha

  • hahahahahah sounds almost exactly the same as mine

  • looks almost identical to mine...check out my videos of my 81 340 et

  • Nice got to love the Old one's my Dad Race on the ice for Micky RUPP for the Factory 68threw73 we had fun going to the races with him he was #1 for 3 Years on a 440 Rupp Magnum

  • sweet!

  • my dad had a old enticer 440 that he rolded going really fast and scared him so bad he sold it lol

  • lol

  • that wouldnt be an enticer a 440 would have to a exciter

  • okay, so i got the snowmobile out and it bogs really easy at about 3000RPM, and it wont go any higher. do you have any suggestions

  • it's been sitting for awhile right? did you clean out the old gas and change the plugs? those are the first things to do and also change the plug wires and caps. maybe you should clean the carb too, you know, go to a place to have it cooked in that stuff or just take it all apart and clean it yourself by spraying carb cleaner all in it and using an air compressor to blow through every little hole you see. if you use a compressor, make sure you took out the needle and seat and diaphram

  • that's what i always do to clean carbs and it always works great for me. i hope i helped!

  • also what you may want to try is putting in gasoline anti-freeze in the tank. sometimes you can get moisture in the gas tank and that bogs it out so if you put like a drop of the stuff in it'll drive out the moisture and stop the motor from bogging

  • hey thanks

  • i have a question- what does the hi/lo switch on the left grip mean because i just got mine running from sitting 19 years and my dad forgot

  • if i remember right (lol i haven't ridden the enticer in so long) it sounds like you're talking about the hi beam lo beam for the light switch. i'm almost positive it's hi beam lo beam i can check for you but it might be a while before i see the enticer next. maybe i can catch a glimpse of it in my video here and in that case i would know what it is in a bit and tell you

  • k thanks

  • yeah that's the hi beam lo beam switch

  • i'm checking my video now. i know what the hi beam lo beam switch looks like so i'll let you know if i see it on the left grip

  • ok thank you

  • yeah anytime you're welcome

  • do all enticer 340's have the same engine or did they change with year? Im wondering because I need one for my excel

  • idk sorry but my guess is they didn't change until mid 80s and probably didn't change much

  • nope really only changes at 1984 but 1979 to 1983 where pretty well the same the only differance was the style of seat and tunnel and even those were't easy to find the differances

  • If you don't want that sled any more, you should e-mail me or something.

  • no i still want it i just don't have space to keep it at my place right now but i will soon

  • nice sled but were is the windsheild?:P

  • it broke when we got it there but fortunately we had made a copy

  • i have a 250 1979 red starts 2 pull everytime and it goes about 150kmph.Fast! good shape

  • yeah, enticers are good first sleds. this one always started good, but now it's been sitting up there for almost 2 years and it hasn't been ridden at all, so now it takes a few pulls. it'll get a workout this weekend though and i'll make a video of it.

150kmph? that's over 93mph. sorry, but there's no way you could get an enticer to go anywhere near that fast, you'd be lucky to break 70mph (112kmph). They were fast sleds for their times, though.

  • is it stock? I guess you could get them to be pretty fast with a few mods

  • bull i have a 1981 yamaha enticer 340 its bored and it does around 90mph

  • dude i'm talking about stock enticers (at least i think i am cause briggsboy123 never replied to me about a modified enticer). if you read both of my replies to briggsboy123 you should be smart enough to tell that i was talking about stock enticers

  • iit cost $60 to bored mine out it just got bigger pistons ect. and my enticer could desroy ur 500cc peace of crap i raced my bros ski-doo blizzard 5500 and i destroyed it. my dads got an 2003 artic cat zr 900 it cathces with it 4 first 3 seconds bbut enyway i could still destroy ur 500 and ur enticer!no prob!

  • did you just bore it? did you do any other mods? if you just bored it than my dual carbed indy 500 would so beat it. enticers are single carbed so unless you did more mods than boring it THERE'S NO WAY IT COULD BEAT AN INDY 500. btw aren't blizzard 5500's 340cc?

  • no a blizzzard 5500 is a 550cc and my enticer is bored! 340twin

  • any idea how much it was bored? i'm really not trying to be mean i don't like to do that you have a SUPER NICE enticer dude! but unless you bored the enticer to like 600cc or did more mods than boring it my indy 500 would kill it. my dad's 88 indy 400 does 83mph, so my 91 indy 500 will definately do over 90mph easy if it's running right (which i think it is).

  • i just did a little research what year is the blizzard a 79 blizzard 5500 is 500cc

  • i think i know why you think your enticer could beat my indy 500: i think you think that because you got the enticer to beat a ski-doo blizzard 5500 (which you thought was 550cc) you think it could beat my indy! if that's it, i have news for u: blizzards are old and are slower than indys even though blizzards can be higher ccs than indys are. the engines in indys are way more advanced

  • ya exactly

  • btw how do you know it does about 90? did you personally ride it at that speed? or does your speedo go up to 90 lol? enticers were definately not built to go anywhere near 90 they have terrible suspension and are too narrow. maybe you could get it to go 90 with several sick mods but it sure would be asking to die

  • my supension is asome and mine tops out at 90mph a stoch engine will do 70mph i no this because in north bay i was gettin clocked and it came to 90mph with mods and 70mph on my other engine that i blew the crank out of

  • lol you think the suspension is awesome? dude enticers land the tiniest jumps like rocks and the suspension doesn't do any good at absorbing bumps i know i have an enticer and the indy suspension is 100 times better. okay, so even if your enticer can do 90, my indy would still kill it no prob. hey have you modded your carb or clutches?

  • suspension is beter than indy it not hard and if u think ur indy will beat my entiicer fine it wont if u think :P jokes! then ill get my dads 2003 artic cat zr900 and it will destroy ur indy no prob!

  • dude you have stock suspension on that don't you? i have ridden stock enticers and stock indys. indy suspension can actually absorb the shocks from jumps and bumps but the enticer suspension is nasty unless you're riding in powder. go jump your enticer and then jump a different snowmobile (get at least a foot of air on each) and then tell me what u think. if u still think enticer suspension is awesome, then ur just stubborn and want to think enticers are cooler than they really are

  • land on snow that has been really packed down hard from being ridden on lots of times.

of course a zr900 would smoke an indy everyone knows that and yes i still say my indy would kill your enticer. btw your page says ur from canada don't you use kmph and not mph over there?

  • i have ridden enticers and newer sleds and i know what i'm talking about

  • dude ill kick ur ass on my 1980 indy, my 2002 super sport 550, or my 1997 storm 800 (bored out to a 1000) and im only 12

  • r u talking to me or suzuki377?

  • i dno i use mph

  • maybe that's only in some parts of canada

  • Hey, i was just watching your enticer vid and reading the description. I was wondering, seeing that you dont ride it much, would you be willing to sell it?

  • i have a 79 enticer and the thing runs great it starts on the first pull

  • yeah this one needs a tune up and it doesn't get ridden much, but hey, it started good under those conditions. it still started with no starting fluid one time when it hadn't ran for 10 months, too.

  • cool

theyre some nice sleds i love mine

  • i got a 79 and 80 340 but neither run. im gonna try to combine the two of them to see it itll run. my dad said those were some of the fastest sleds they had back then. hopefully it will be just as fast:)

  • It's not very fast it only does about 50 or 55mph. My brother had a 1980 Ski-Doo Blizzard 340 and that was FAST! I guess Enticers were pretty fast for their time, they were faster than lots of other things I can think of, but they weren't the fastest.

  • i know jusst back then they were like the fastest of thier time except for ski doos

  • yeah that sounds right to me

  • nice machine, i used to have a 79 enticer 340, i loved it

  • yeah it was a sweet little sled! I just had to get a faster, nicer sled, but this was just too good to get rid of. It used to have a good windshield too, but it broke when we took it there, fortunately, we made a copy of it.
