I'd have no problem giving a DNA sample especially in such a case as long as It's destroyed after I have been eliminated as a suspect. I don't like the idea of the state retaining my DNA profile, it smacks as a police state. Anything can be abused and I don't trust my Government to keep it secure. What they don't have, they can't lose .. or abuse.
He didn't ruin your life.. you ruined your life. The idea that you would take someone else's blood test is beyond stupid. I wonder if the two life sentences concurrent or consecutive? If they were concurrent then he got the second murder for free as he will not serve any extra time in prison for that second murder.

Us who dont want to kill or harm other people shall just be glad we have a normal working brain, but the killer has to receive the punishment for what he did and in a case like this it should be death penalty. If you have taken another persons life you need to pay with your own, unless it is selfdefence.

@globe255: How many times have the wrong people been convicted of horrible crimes only to be proved innocent many years later. What do we do in cases like that if we had the death penalty, stand over their grave and say sorry? killers like him deserve the ultimate punishment but until such time as we have a police and a prosecutorial system that is more interested in finding the truth rather and simply securing a criminal conviction, then we run the risk of killing innocent people.
@celticlofts Today we can use the DNA to prove someone guilty or not and thats a 100% safe method, There is a risk out of billions that it isnt the man. By the way the time when we didnt had the DNA method could also prove the case. Do you remember Ted Bundy? Do you think he was innocent? They would never execute a person unless they are 100% sure.
