    2) Besides roasted ground cumin seeds powder and mango powder, what can i replace these 2 ingredients?

  • Do you have to buy the roasted cumin powder? If not, how do you prepare it?

  • @itsabitofnuffing

Dry roast the cumin seeds over low medium heat, until they are brown. After it comes to room temperature then grind.

  • Gift ! What a great idea. Thank you so much. I will be gifting all my friends and relatives. :-)

  • Namaste Manjulaji, can we add almonds and peanuts to this mix?

  • Namaste Manjula. Love your work!

  • I really enjoy your videos:) I would like to try this cashew recipe, but could you tell me if cayene pepper and red chilli powder are the same thing? Thanks:)

  • @TheCeramicGoddess I can tell you. They are not the same. Cayenne is made purely from that type of pepper, whereas chili powders are usually a mixture of different types of peppers. I can see you live in Canada. I'm not 100% sure, but I imagine cayenne pepper should be about as easy to find there as it is here in the U.S., where I live. Perhaps it depends more on how close you live to a metropolitan area. Hope that helps. :>)

  • @SylvanaForrester Thanks for the info! :)

  • Nice gift idea! :)

  • Yum! I've been using Julie Sahni's recipe (in Savoring India) which calls for more oil and a higher heat - her spice mixture is mango powder, salt and cayenne. I'm going to try yours next time. Do you have a favorite brand of mango powder? I've been using MDH.

  • @ducksredux

    MDH should be fine
