It was Chretien who cut transfer payments to the Provinces to create your mythical "surplus" - money that is needed for health care, roads, sewage, etc.
The impact of over a decade of cutting federal transfer payments has been that our standard of living has decreased.

You can force employers to raise the minimum wage as they plan to, but you cant FORCE employers to employe people so less people get employed. and that is just one of many examples, my opinion all our politics and democracy in general are horrible.
