This is a comment if followed will insure that trolleys are kept. Call councilmen that voted to discontinue trolleys to have a revote, and keep them. Tell them they will be voted out of office if they do not.
Why do all trolley buses make that awful sound when the air tank gets nearly full? It makes that "waaawuhhwawuhhhhhhwaaawuhh" sound for a few minutes before the air tank releases. I've been on GM diesel buses and they don't do that..
@MudAnt its the air commpressor this is the only type of trolley buses that makes that sound becuase the air compresser is old even gmc new look diesel buses makes that sound even bus 125 at seasore trolley museum makes that noise alote becuase its never ran in edmonton sinc 1993 the seasore trolley museum got it running properly its going to take long time before it to gets used for the over head wires at seasore trolley museum
What should be done is all these buses should be rebuilt and kept running 8 more years. Number 2 in the machine shop 50 of each part should be made so there are plenty of parts. Some are still made. New Trolley buses should be bought in order to have Trolley bus service on 5 more routes.
I've lived in Edmonton my entire life and I've never ridden on one of them. They're serviced almost exclusively downtown, and parts of the north/west end.
Seattle should replace its Gillig Phantom Trolleys and put these in instead.

Are you sure that these trolleybuses are quiet ? Because the GM New Look buses are very noisy and they have a hard sound of engine.

The city voted to phase them out. I ride on the trolleys everyday! That new flyer was nice, but they went with hybrids

BTW most of the older trolley buses have westinghouse d/c motor 600v with a chopper, air compressor and controls
