They didn't, though there are three versions. In America and a few other countries, it's this. In Europe, it's a different theme I have yet to find for upload. And I havn't heard the third version, though I think it's played in Australia

Us in Europe have two versions. One was used for the first series only and a different version for the rest of the series. I think all versions are based on this original song anyway.

hugh laurie is a legend. he speaks like 10 different languages. plays 10 instruments. is a whitty genius and made it from small screen england to big screen usa. hes all in all the legendary package deal!

It's extremely rare someone can pull off the proper accent in another language. That doesn't mean he can't speak it. And Mandarin is like like the most difficult language on the planet, with many different dialects, 246 characters to our 26 and every character could mean one of 20 things depending on how it's pronounced or how well it's enunciated. So that's a bad example
