  • @inuyasha491 supposedly McCartney came to RCMH just after Ringo left after the afternoon sound check. Everyone was sworn to secrecy so that Paul being there would be a surprise for Ringo. I think Paul actually told Ringo he couldn't make it because of a gig or recording session he couldn't get out of. So when the All-Starr band finished their show and Ringo went off-stage, Paul came on to sing to Ringo! And that's when Ringo found out Paul was there, and ran back onstage to jam on "Birthday."

  • It always touches me to see Paul and Ringo together. After all, they are one half of the greatest band of all time.

  • @Jethrofinger

macca is more than half a band. he was leader and in fact he was the one who "draged" Beatles to the last.

  • @katrin2801 Don't ever kid yourself, John Lennon was the leader of The Beatles and allowed Paul to take over somewhat after Brian died. John had become disillusioned with the whole Beatles experience. Paul's bossy attitude soured the rest of The Beatles, caused Ringo to walk out during the White Album, and alienated George during the "Let It Be" sessions. John resented Paul for releasing his solo album first, which made John mad because he didn't want to undermine "Let It Be" being released..

  • @katrin2801 and John had contemplated releasing his solo album first, but was talked out of it by John. Paul finally realized it was over, released mcCartney, and officially split from The Beatles. Try listening to "Strawberry Fields Forever", or "I Am the Walrus", or "Come Together and tell me who was more artistically inventive? I love Paul as a singer and a songwriter, but I believe he was artistically a lightweight compared to John as a songwriter. Name a song Paul wrote post-Beatles that

  • @katrin2801 is superior to "Imagine?" It can't be done. I'm not slagging Paul, he's written some amazing and wonderful songs since The Beatles, but Lennon was by far the artistic visionary, willing to go anywhere into new musical territory to expand the scope of The Beatles material. The plain truth is that The Beatles needed each other as the group they were to scale the musical heights the made as a group. Even John understood that, and wanted the band to reunite in 1974.

  • Going to see Paul in 2 weeks for the first time in 44 years - OH MY GAWD I'm old!

These two shared an episode of their lives that nobody else on the planet can even begin to appreciate except the two who are sadly gone. They are brothers in fact if not in blood and it shows!

  • nice!

  • jaja..thanks 4 the video!!

  • Adhere glue, adhere! Or I rendered my horse into goo for naught!I can't ride out in resplendent peasantry as maintained the Cos-sacks, Cassocks & casket makers if the theoretics & therms (& theorems) remain unsubstantiated, damn it!

  • awesome!

  • did paul kiss ringo a couple of times??? thats sooo cool! i almost cried when i saw that! ;)

  • @mjbeatlesmusic

Yeah, macca kissed him twice. So what? Thx god, now he doesnt care what smb can think about it. Too sad he didnt acts like it earlier.

  • Also at 3:00 Best hug when it comes to guys, then 3:05 Paul kisses Ringo! Awww that was SO cute and brotherly! 3:14 Side hugs!!!!

  • 1:44 "IT'S PAUL MCCARTNEY!! YA-HOO!!" Haha

  • WOW. that was damn cute. ^^ no wonder all those people were so happy.... I would be out of it, cheering. :) <33333 The cutest most lovely part was when they hugged. ^^' I can never express how much I love when they show their love like that.

  • Well maybe Ringo will vist Paul in San Francisco! lmao

  • Wow, this is great to see Paul and Ringo together again!! Get to see Sir Paul McCartney in San Francisco on July 10, 2010!!! Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!!

  • Wow! I wish I was there!!! I've been to many of Ringo's All-star concerts and I've always said how cool it woul be if Paul came out and surprised everybody. Well, it took Ringo's 70th birthday but it finaly happened.....

Thanks for posting this and as always, thanks to Ringo and Paul for giving us yet another memorable moment!

  • The ending part is what I loved and appreciated the most when Ringo and Paul got together and gave each other a hug. It is great to see they are still close after "all those years ago" and for all they both have gone through. Did my eyes deceive me or did Sir Paul actually give Ringo a kiss, if not two?

  • @yerblues1968 no he did

  • @beatlefan4evr21 Thanks. It sunk in that Paul is no longer embarrassed to show affection even in public with another former Beatle. He commented to Larry King before George Harrison's death about holding his hand before he died, as if he had never done that before--to hold another man's hand, that men normally do not do that. But here he was holding and stroking George's hand while he lay dying. Paul is now more appreciative and not afraid to show affection. This was Paul/Ringo's special moment.

  • @yerblues1968 All I can say is I am GLAD Ringo did not go to Larry King Live on his birthday. Larry can be a real jerk at times--especially how he treated Ringo when he turned 68 asking why he still performs. WTF? Like why are you still working and giving interviews Larry at YOUR age?? Ringo--or anybody--deserves to be happy on their birthday doing what makes him/her happy, and I am happy that Sir Paul unexpectedly turned up at Ringo's party. It is GREAT seeing them performing together again.

  • You gotta love all the "Oh my God!"s! lol! That was SO cool! Thanks so much for posting it! :-D
