Digimon isn't like Pokemon. They don't have set evolutions. For example Agumon can digivolve into Greymon, but it can also digivolve into Geogreymon. Same with Biyomon digivolving into Aquiliamon and then into Garudamon. Just look it up on the digimon wiki, It explains better than I do.

The different seasons have different rules. It would be nice if it stay the same throught the series but it didnt thats y birdramon sounds like a dude geo greymon digivolved to rizegreymon instead of metalgreymon and birdramon hatched from a egg as a rookie and digivolved to an ultimate in a matter of hours without the help of a partner digivice or crest.

@h8ter9000 crests and tags are used to force a champion digimon into ultimate in season one and two. in season one and two, digimon can naturally digivolve into ultimate but it takes time and experience and even more time and experience to get to mega. in this one, it is a lot easier for a digimon to evolve because all it requires is emotional energy. every season has different digivolution rules.

Aquilamon is Hawkmon's regular digivolution whereas it was Birdramon for Biyomon/piyomon in the first season but the Garudamon for ultimate level is correct. I think the writers confused themselves.

@LouisRandy Digimon such as Biyomon to Aquilamon don't have a defined digivolution line. They are not mistakes. If you played the Digimon games, it goes into more variable digivolution lines such as Gabumon becoming Greymon or Tyrannomon. So nope Data Squad's Biyomon's digivolutions here are just as correct as Adventure 01's Biyomon.

Rizegreymon is a bit diferent then Metalgremon. The metal claw is of course replaced with a gun and his armor is a bit diferent. I think one of the main diference is his wings. Metalgremon looks like he has ripped dragon wings and Rizegremon has rocket/space wings. I thinl it makes him look cooler with the arm canon and diferent armor and wings.

Well, I hate alot of the screwing with the way digimon evolve in this season, but the agumon and his evolved forms in this season are all better than in S1 so far. Greymon and metalgreymon were too slow and bulky, and in s1 augumons only attack was pepper-breath.
