  • what? no hat??? ;)

  • No man, this is not a Tele. :)

  • 12AY7 pre-amp tube instead of a 12AX7

  • is this guitar twangy?

  • Muito interessante. I have one of these amps. I took the speaker out, installed a speaker jack and just use the amp as a head. The warmth and clean headroom can be achieved by using a JAN Philips or JAN GE 5751 for you pre-amp tube. Nice playing. Good luck.

  • hey cool video. i was thinking about one of these, but would want to switch out the bridge for a 3 saddle bridge. i heard the size isn't standard, know anything about that?

  • Not really. I'm not big on mods.

  • @frets99 Hi frets99 i know the question is a bit out of the subject but i've seen that you own a few xavieres tele. I just want to know if you ever tried the newer pup's 52 Tele Vintage Wound Professional Series Bridge Pickup 6.3K and the 52 Tele Vintage Wound Professional Series Neck Pickup 6.6K from gfs, jay at gfs told me by email that they sound close to the 52 fender tele RI. I have a turser tele and i want to replace the pup's for those kind.

  • Are those the stock pickups?

  • The bridge is stock. The neck is a GFS alnico tele neck pup.

  • hi frets luv ur playing. i just bought a jt tele. i want to change my p/u to a seymour duncan broadcastor like u did. is it hard for me to do this?

    how did u do it?

    thanx,

    debi:)

  • If you have a little soldering knowledge, it shouldn't be too hard. I'm not great at it but I manage. It does take some patience.

  • same guitar and same setup i have!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I will pick up my tele like this tomorrow

  • It does make a difference, but as is it is still a fun little amp. If nothing else try different tubes sometime down the road, like the 12at7 instead of 12ax7.

  • Have you tried any of the mods to the vc508?

  • I haven't. I'm sure the mods would make it killer but she sounds pretty good now!

  • Yeah, I did the Guitarnutz mods to mine, except I placed the power switch on the bottom and made the old hole for the switch the master volume and put a chrome knob there, which is so much more convenient. I also replaced the TL072 op amp with an OPA2604. Sounds pretty good, but now I have the Crate V50 to play around with. Happy noodling...

  • Oh and I put an Radio Speakers of Canada 8" speaker in there.

  • Thanks. I'll keep those mods in mind if I ever get up the energy. I could stand a touch more warmth and clean headroom.

  • produces that unique tele sound. I think I want one! Black majic woman...nice!

  • fretts are the Jay Turser.s any good. im looking to buy a 200$ axe would you give me a word on a good 200$ axe, your help would be what i need to make up my mind on a axe

  • Tursers are a terrific guitar for the money. If not for the Xaviere's, they would be my hands down favorites at that price range. I give the nod to the Xaviere's because the stock pickups are higher quality. The electronics and hardware are better quality as well. Both excellent guitars for the money though.

  • thanks fretts just what i needed to know

  • Nice

  • Hey frets, I know you from HCEG! Nice black magic woman performance, you should do a full recording. It would really be enjoyable.

  • Thank You! May just have to do that soon!

  • new amp?
