My grandfather was born in 1939 trust me not everything was great back then. You'd have to be a man, straight, white, wealthy and American to live the good life that we see then (not all the bad stuff) My grandfather told me for a long time people didn't have electricity, fridges, toilets in the house, toasters, microwaves, TVs or even affordable cars back then. Life was hard. I believe life for most people only started to get "good" after the late 60s.

Way back in the 50's, songs had morals. For example, "Don't Be Cruel" teaches to not be Cruel, and "Shake Rattle and Roll" was about dancing, and working hard during the summer. But NOWADAYS!
