  • We are in the Appalachian Music community of Floyd Virginia - I am also making a small museum display of some of my computers available to the public in the Village Green. We are on the "Blue Ridge Parkway" & " The Crooked Road - Virginia's Heritage Music Trail" . A lot of good things here - drop in and see us sometime. Also if you are biker this is a big stop over for riders on the Blue Ridge Parkway - Dave

  • I believe this area is the original home of Amateur Satellites, has much to do with the proximity of Vandenburg AFB (Missile Country). As for me, I'm not in the "thick" of things- Tinker with QRP and HF Bands primarily. Unable to access info regarding Super Capacitors. As Much as I Complain about Cal Poly Library, I just might have to sneak on campus and use one of thier computers. Everything now is pretty much Global- I won't be at Workshop in April. Cheers.

  • Just briefly came across something about upcoming CubeSat Launch at Vandenburg; evidently this is allowed now- thank goodness. Also, I see Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is hosting the 8th Annual CubeSat developers worhshop April 20-22 2011. This Super Capacitor I find fascinating; perhaps somewhat related to the use of Capacitor Arrays for memory? Lots of Possibilities. My searches thus far are preliminary, have not got to the meat and potatoes yet. Cheers KG6QNK ..

  • @39651able Hi Keep us informed here with you search results. Looks like California has the action for the Cube sats

  • I find this "Super Capacitor" Power System interesting- will look into it. Continuous recharging from Solar Panel would make it practically a source of unlimited Power. Seems to me a very practicle field of research for these CubeSats. I'm in San Luis Obispo, Cal. Why can't Vandenburg Launch these Satelites; or at least provide some logistical help? Absurd sending these to Russia for Launching; or so it seems to me. I'm just a QRP CW Brass Pounder; this is nice to look at- Cheers.

  • @39651able Some good questions - maybe some of our viewers can help with answers. I do not know to much about these units except it is a very interesting project. Thank you for viewing and making your commets. We are heading out on FAIRS Mission to Dominica on the 11 and will be their for 15 days -- for info see missiononearth-com and follow us on twitter-com/n4usa Dave

  • This is really an interesting Satellite-- I look forward to working a few of these --- KK4WW and N4USA
