Being an American, I am not angry because I would hardly call this car a failure . I still think it's an amazing automobile, wether it's the fastest or not. I think if these times could change run to run anyway. Pretty evenly matched cars if you ask me.
Price/looks doesnt come into it. The Veyron is an engineering marvel, not a work of art. And since SSC tried to compete with the Veyron, and failed, I think the higher top speed is quite important. If you dont need to do 260mph, why did SSC compete with Bugatti to be the first to do it?

Actually this car did a test run which was faster than the veyron fact! The veyron SS put up a faster Mph but the SCC didnt reach its max mph lool it up the SCC is atleast 30mph faster than the SS

when the speed test was made for the AERO the road was bumpy and had an S bend half way AND the aero only needed less than 2 miles to hit 257MPH, the stupid veyron on its test had to start after reaching 120 MPH while it was going trough a corner and the following road was a perfectly straight 5.8 mile long run way AND the veyron needed almost the whole road to reach its claimed speed, the veyron ss is crap.
the bugatti is faster on like, a 6 mile drag. the SSC aero is much more based on handling. put a veyron and an aero in an endurance race and the aero will win for sure. great car

when the speed test was made for the AERO the road was bumpy and had an S bend half way AND the aero only needed less than 2 miles to hit 257MPH, the stupid veyron on its test had to start after reaching 120 MPH while it was going trough a corner and the following road was a perfectly straight 5.8 mile long run way AND the veyron needed almost the whole road to reach its claimed speed, the veyron ss is crap.

@ryandude2448 Have you seen the interior of the SSC? It couldn't be any cheaper. The SSC is nothing but a fast car and, if you're going to spend that kind of money on a car, it should at least have a better interior than a VW Jetta.
On the other hand, the Veyron is the fastes car in the world AND a luxurious car, it has great finishes, the interiors are a lot more comfortable, the outside design isn't generic, etc...
And yes, I've been inside both cars in an expo.

@TheSirBarto yep and for 30k you can build a hyabusa turbo (basicly a stock 04 busa with a few things like pistons, rods and a twinturbo system plus a longer swingarm oh and semislicks) yep and road legal and you have the veyrons topspeed in a mile. that is a standing start btw. anyway with the right tuning (gearing) i think someone could get an ultima gtr with maby a built quadcam twin turbo 3uz heads 2uz block and for 100-150k total and get the same speed with enough road.. and time haha!
