  • Hey, I just want to know if it is feasible to max this pc out for gaming with this card, and what are my limits, HP Pavilion a6750y Desktop PC

    CPU 2.3GHz AMD Phenom X4 9650

    Memory 8GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM

    Graphics 256MB 800Mhz DDR2 SDRAM

Hard drives 750GB, 7200 rpm Hitachi

    Optical drive dual-layer DVD burner

    Networking Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g wireless

Operating system 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium SP1

PSU: SilverStone Strider Essential 500W Power Supply 80 PLUS - SST-ST50F-ES

  • is the Ti Version still better ??

  • @showrider99 No dude :)

  • wow metro rapes every gpu besides sli

  • @GAMeEnTHuSiaST1 The 7950 and 7970 can both handle it..

  • @GAMeEnTHuSiaST1 being poorly optimized doesn't help ;)

  • Hey Tom, I was wondering if you could do a video on the ideal gaming build of 2012. Parts that have the best bang for your buck and work smoothly together, I am thinking a 2000 rig. Maybe show the build process and of course performance. Thank-you for the great videos so far keep up the good work!

  • @DominarQuintus Wondefull idea. But im thinking in the price range of 1000 pounds

  • how's that metro seems so smooth at under 30s ??

  • @Styka Videos are like 24-27fps when they get uploaded to youtube (i think) So anything above that is smooth

  • @Styka Film runs at 24 frames per second. That's smooth enough for most people.

  • @completesculpture some games look like crap under 30 fps. depends a litle on the monitor and the card

  • @tobak60 Actually it depends on the type of motion. 24fps can appear to be silky smooth until you do something like scroll sideways, then it will judder as too much of the image is moving at once in the most dramatic way. This is true also for film and you won't see that often because of that. zooming into the screen, ala a fps, you won't get that, until you strafe left/right. Still, a playable speed, especially when the frame rate is only dropping sometimes to below 30 or even 60fps.

  • @completesculpture No, not all Films run at 24 fps.

  • @SuperGoldenstick Almost all do, a rare new format is 48fps, I read the Hobbit was going to be 48fps, not sure if it still is. TV varies between 25 and 30 depending on whether you're in the US or europe. Hopefully your pedantic self is getting the picture now, you don't need many fps to appear smooth, 30fps is fine for most, with occasional dips below that not really being an issue unless you're in serious competition or something.

  • Does anyone know what program he uses in this to display the FPS and GPU Usage??!! Thanks!

  • @aidandude3 msi afterburner, or fraps.

  • @Styka Thanks.

  • Good and fair review as usual.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Can you make a review of a Gainward graphic card any time ?

  • I wish you would go back to removing the heatsink again, it helps massively in figuring out what waterblocks might be able to fit

  • Thanks for the AD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • why havent i heard of inno3D?

  • Nvidia are stupid and should have called this card the 565

  • I dont care what my rig looks like as long as it works !!!!!

  • you should really test the EVGA Classified 560 448. I would really like to see more EVGA cards on you channel.

  • Wow, whatever speakers you're using for the game play videos are amazingly clear.

  • creepy smile =p

  • I prefer the evga version

  • subliminal krispy kreme ad

  • Needs to be changed to read 560 ti !!

  • Comment removed

  • didnt even finish watching the video before saying: that card is really ugly. blue pcb and ugly plastic thingy covered in gay stickers. not my cup of tea

  • this ones looks like a copied ati 4870, lol. Nvidia is learning from ATI.

  • @feilox how is it nvidia copying ati? more like inno3D is copying ATI or whatever brand used that cooler for the 4870.

  • @feilox so you relly think nvidia is responsible for Inno3D coolers?

  • i've got to say, compared to some of your other video's, you are getting better at bf3.

    keep the vids comming :)

  • Just curious why do you mount your PSU's the other way around?

  • inno3d graphic cards are ugly..!!!

  • tom can you do the inno3d gtx570?

  • Why is the gtx 560 ti 448 performing better than the gtx 570 in the benchmarks?

    Weird.

  • @draker696 probably optimized architecture

  • would it not be better to record using fraps or other similar product for the game play section?

  • @emerybryant

Using screen capture software will stress the GPU thus reducing the frames/second in the game, giving results that are hard to compare.

Often a computer that will get 100 frames/second in a game will struggle to get over 30 while recording with fraps.

  • @emerybryant I think he's recording this way to show you what the real world fps is. fraps hinders the actual fps quite a bit.

  • @emerybryant You would not have the framerates the gpu is capable of processing when without fraps. When recording a video you're generally limited by your storage device unless you have an insane two-grand SSD raid array. This is a GPU review, not a gaming session or gameplay presentation.

  • @emerybryant I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but as everyone else said, Fraps is known for dropping fps. Considering most people won't be be recording with Fraps while playing games, it's much more accurate for benching to not record.

  • @Zacccc51 you dont mean too? yet you do anyways? im pretty sure you do mean to and yes i kinda got the point i was only asking to see if their was any particular reason or if its as many people pointed out and i kinda already knew that fraps can reduce fps (and yes i did know that it does)

  • in desktription it says the full review is there but I see the same video??? wheres the video with da full review!

  • Tom, I fold using my Playstation 3, and I've assigned your team number to it just last week. If you ever look at your team roster, you'll probably see something named "PS3!" heh. I know it's not a PC, but it's still contributing.

  • Those stickers look tacky as fuck

  • The redline team is awesome guys. I'm a member (fairly new) and I couldn't have found a better team to fold for.

  • @yassarikhan786 Do people get money for folding ?

  • @leanlifter1 No, it's done for a good cause and benefits scientific research. It's also fun as you are competing with other people on the team for points.

  • i dont know if iv ever seen you check out every brands version of a card lol very in depth work indeed

  • fuck this card!

  • To: TTL

    From: Santa

  • hey guys i got a question im trying to sli two 460s on my crosshairv on w7 64bit, and in my nvida control panel there's no sli option anyone know whats up? i cant find a clear answer anywhere

  • my gt520 is 400 cores less

  • 890 being a 17% overclock :)

  • With the gtx 570 , I don't see the point of this card at this price?

  • @BarackMcBush The point of this card was for Nvidia to make more profit margins like they were suffering to begin with ERRR how about giving back to those that support them this card is a slap in the face.

  • Awesome as always TTL Thanks !!!

  • Lets be honest here, it looks a bit crap :D

  • Ultimate in tacky design

  • "To: TTL

    From: SANTA"

    What is that Tom?

  • HEY TTL, you may have covered this before in the past, but i was just wondering.. any idea why nvidia thought it was a good idea to make such a vast range of cards under the "GTX 560" model name? for instance, there is a difference of 112 cuda cores between the high and low end cards (448 vs 336), 8 ROPS (40 vs 32) and 12 TAU's (64 vs 56), also 256mb of memory (1280 vs 1024) as well as considerable clocks speed differences... The 448 is like a gtx 470 on crack :D

  • @psychoclown420 Or like a GTX570 who just woke up ^^

  • @krattlusker 570 has more cuda cores (480) and TAU's (60) than the 560 ti 448 (448, 56).. the Ti 448 has the exact same specs as a gtx 470, with much higher clocks due to revised architecture/fabrication

  • @psychoclown420 Same performance too.

  • that thing sucks.

  • Tom please, you have to review NZXT Switch 810!!!

  • ugly looking card imo

  • Tom, please read out the scores mate. Not everyone who use's the net or indeed 'watches' your video's can see. It might sound daft but reading the score's out would be a great help. Cheers dude.

  • @nozbit I dont think blind people have alot of use for a dedicated graphics card.

  • @nozbit Get reading glasses, and put the video to full screen. Cheers mate.

  • @nozbit ...it does sound daft. Whats the point of visiting Youtube and not-watching all the videos?

  • @nozbit of course not everyone can 'see' videos. but what's the point of a blind guy watching a video review of a >graphics< card?

  • @probaner92 As in, watching on a mobile device, or as I do it.. Doing housework with the speakers turned on max.

  • @nozbit You can allways check out the written review for the numbers while watching the video :) that's only if you really wanted to know the numbers but I guess that's the whole point in watching this video.

  • @nozbit never seen a blind man interested in graphic cards performance lol

  • @club4ghz I usually just tab out of his vids and listen unless it's something I need to see like a case.

  • as long as the pcb isnt green or brown its all good to me i do like the blue and the black pcbs tho

  • My Inno3D GTX580 has a black pcb. Strange..

  • i hate the 448s! they came out right after i bought my 560 hawk i was peeesed

  • WHAT CASE IS THAT FUKIN SEXY SOMEONE LET ME KNOW ASAP!

  • @raheemisbad cooler mast cs storm i be leave is what it is

  • What software is he using to show GPU usage & FPS in the left there?

Anyone know any software that will show GPU memory usage?

I have a 6950 2gb but it would be intresting to find out how much gpu memory BF3 is using.

  • @MrNevakonaza if you are using windows vista/7 then google ''GPU Meter'' gadget.

  • @MrNevakonaza gpuz is good

  • you using the old rig

  • bluuuuuuuuuuuue! :X

  • Hey Tom, I've been looking to switch over to some Nvidia cards, but I'm worried about how the surround works on them. I read that mismatched monitors aren't supported, but does that just mean that you can have different (make and model) lcd's with the same resolutions or do the monitors all have to be identical? I have two Asus lcd's and a Vizio lcd running eyefinity off of a 6970 at 5760x1080 and I'd love to switch to a gtx 690 or two (when they come out). Help would be greatly appreciated :)

  • @SpineShank7 just needs to be the same res, remember cards like this dont support surround. Youd need 2 cards to be able to run 3 screens.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms The monitors do not even have to be the same res, they all need to support a common resolution but they all do not have to be the same highest resolution. I have three monitors on my GTX 590 and one is a Asus monitor at 1920x1080 (my main screen) and the other two are hp monitors at 1600x900. But when they are all in surround it goes to the highest common res ie 1600x900 which goes to 4800x900 in surround. So to answer your question no they do not but it is preferable.

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms @billabob1231 @Zacccc51 @F4H33M97 Thanks for the input guys! And yes, I plan on having two gpu's, but I'm most likely going with the next dual gpu card from Nvidia (that being the gtx 790, so I'm told) then proceed to sli another one a bit further down the road (for maximum ridiculousness :P) I'm just really hoping they have 4-6Gb of VRAM :/

  • @SpineShank7 Correction: It's going to be the 790 :) Also, I'm willing to bet nVidia will highly improve on their surround considering it's becoming more and more popular. So at this point, no one knows.

  • @SpineShank7 yep it would work , but only if u have 2 cards , and tom has already probably told you this :L

  • @SpineShank7 With Nvidia you NEED two... so ya.. have fun lol

  • @Cashmachinez Surround works off of a single dual gpu card, so I should be fine :)

  • Blue PCB or anything that isn't black is better. Why? Because it's easier to notice defects on the card and also if you burn it somehow, you 'll find the burn marks easier.

  • Why the fuck do companies keep using blue/red/whatever colour other than black on their PCB!?!?!?!????

  • @TheQhozt Why the fuck do you use so many excalmation marks in your comment???????????????????

No, srsly... I like having some variety in colour on PCBs. (Even tho I wish they would stop using green and brown) My PC is all red and black in the inside and it looks kinda nice imo. But after all it's just a matter of taste, right?

  • @TimeToLiveCustoms

Tom can you do crysis warhead gameplay with 7970??

  • @audigamer1 That game is like 5 years old....

  • @TheQhozt well it still kicks GPUs ass :)

  • @TheQhozt

Yeah but today is at top 4 most demanding games

  • @TheQhozt but awesome graphics and crysis 2 would look better but the fucking consoles

  • YouTube app is broken Google have fucked up big time, no subs videos on the home page I had to check the channel myself to see if any new vids were posted

  • Would be gay to say first... Secooooonnddd!!!! :D

  • @SubsitudeMyOwn But you are first just say it :O
