How does the ctk-900 work for you? Can you modify effects for a closer to the original sound? I'd like to play the synth parts to Rush songs so I'd need something with some variety but I don't want to shell out the bucks for a synth. This is much cheaper and seems like a decent machine.

Seen Rush nine times. Not enough! BEST band in the universe. Maybe even beyond. The best bands are the ones you STILL find depth in 30 years after you started listening to them(1978 for me). Rush is not just a 'band' they are an indescribable entity. I never met them but Geddy, Alex and Neil are considered some of my best friends. They have seen me through a LOT!

great song...and you do a good job...

the CTK 900 is VASTLY more powerfull than the 810...

on the casio web site you get FREE computer software for the 900...which is very advanced...for editing the synth patches and NUMEROUS OTHER THINGS...among which is being able to load your own SAMPLED SOUNDS into the CTK 900...

it is all easy to do.....aswell

is casio ctk 800 almost the same as ctk 900?

CTK-800 has 500 tones, 900 has 824. 800 also has a 2 song memory while 900 has 4 song. Another cool thing is 900 has a synth editor, not very advanced though. But you can edit sounds and tweak them how you want. Im not sure if 800 has that though. But they really arent that different from one another.

isnt the casio ctk 900 better? i just got this ctk 900 and it's good but it could use a bunch of pedals and so forth.

i'd recommend that people buy something used off ebay, posibly something old school but with good sounds

Tell you the truth i would now rather purchase a yamaha than casio. The tones sound much better. But the ctk-900 isnt bad at all.

well if you get the ctk900 you could also get a good pedal; the ctk900 has good piano sounds and that's about it but when hooked up to a PodXT guitar pedal it rocks. of course the pedal i talk about is as expensive as the keyboard and you always need a good piano sound so you'll have to tune it in the ctk900 too. but it will sound way better
