i cant get mine to let me preview the audio, it only has sound in the playback, any ideas on how to preview the audio

Sorry, I haven't used this thing in over 5 months so I can't really help here. I pretty much just figured it all out for myself though, so it can't be too hard. Just mess around with the menus and I'm sure you'll find it eventually.

NTSC is the video format used by American TVs... I didn't have to change anything to get it to work, except to set it too NTSC.

Yes, and I'm assuming your's doesn't... you may want to try and contact either the manufacturers or the software engineers for the recording software you're using.

okay, lets clear this up, ur on ntsc, using ulead and easycap, and recording in color, im trying to record a us ps3

Well... I was... mine got stepped on, so now I'm using a higher quality one, or will be once I take the time to set up the special cables I purchased for it...

But previously, yes, I used my EasyCap to record both directly from and Xbox 360 and PS2, as well as from the output of a TV used to play an Xbox 360 and PS2. Both worked in full color, but had some issues with lagging sound if I recorded more than ~30mins without stopping.

oo, okay, to be honest, i didnt get mine yet xD, but people have color issues, and they get color with pal, but i use ntsc, thanks for the help, ill tell you how it goes when mine gets here, its shipping from cali, so its gonna be a while

Hi timmeh1250. I'm wondering to buy a EASYCAP for record my X360, this is the USB version? The image is good for a 19 bucks gadget, you tried to record the x360?

Yes and yes. Unfortunately, mine got stepped on, so I can't really show off any Xbox 360 videos using it. As forewarning, I don't think it works recording when your Xbox 360 is using HD. Not sure why, but it doesn't seem to work.

I wasn't able to pick up video or audio. I changed my video source to video composite, and that solved the audio. I still can't record video.

Make sure you have the video formats set correctly (NTSC, PAL, etc.) depending on your region. I had some problems using the AV output on my brother's HD, so if you're trying to record from an HDTV, that may be the problem.

I bought one of these on ebay for $10 or so. It works on my WinXP, but not on my WinVista64Bit.

My question is WHAT SOFTWARE are you using to do the video capture. I keep getting those huge annoying black borders from the top, bottom, left and right side.

What are your computer specs?

The listed requirements for EasyCap are suspiciously low, and I'm not sure I trust them.

I have about 2gig or ram on a 2GHz machine. I have a NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics card installed, but I'm not sure about the model of my sound card. The recordings are great, although if I record for too long (30mins+) the audio starts de-syncing, although I believe there are programs availiable to fix that to a certain extent. As a side note, my computer is a 2-year-old Toshiba laptop, P100 Satilite if you care.

Thanks for the info. I picked one up and it works great! My PC is much older than yours, but with the right settings on this there are no problems at all.

I use XP, and as of yet, have refused to use Vista. Sorry, but I have no idea as to how to do something on Vista.

So far as I know you can. However, I use a North American TV, so I don't know for sure. It just copies what it see's on the screen, so you can set it up however you want :)

It is. I can get pretty much full quality 640x480 capture with it, although as with most videos the sound will end up coming to early pretty fast without some editing or one heck of a gaming computer.

It's a USB Video Recording device. You plug one end into your tv or game console and the other into your computer and you can record gameplay or in all reality, anything on the tv screen.

I will do that as soon as I have the time. I am also looking into getting some better capture software, because while the software that comes with it is nice, it doesn't have the features, or large resolution (max is 480x640 I think) I would like.

You plug the USB into the computer and your game system into the red, yellow and white cables... if you prefer you can get a second set of double sided cables and plug them into your tv and the EC. S-Video also works.

It supports RCA (Red, white and yellow, as opposed to the two ended Y-cable) and S-Video.
