I live in a small farm town, and I'm not a christian (or anything for that matter) but ive gotten all the names in the book, ive been beaten up I've been publicly humiliated by teachers because everyone in my whole town is a closed minded christian. they don't seem to understand that i dont believe that one being (terrestrial or not) could be responsible for everything, good and bad. Honestly, anyone who reads the book will know that Jesus said " No man can go to heaven, but the earth will be made new". And also, when you die, your dead. My point is, do not take Christianity lightly. Those who are wise will be able to see the meaning behind everything in it. Hello Jmils, I just wanted you to know that there is more to it than that. If you research, the catholic christian sect has some differences from the real thing. The catholic church changed two commandmants.
" Thou shall not worship idols" has been erased, and " The Holy Sabbath" was changed from the 7th day to the first. They say it is to celebrate the resurrection of christ, however, Jesus taught many that the law is unchanging, in fact, it is so unchanging that God did not spare his only son from the cross.
Back to the point, the book of revelations says that when Jesus returns, he will first resurrect martyred (one who chooses to suffer death rather than renounce religious principles) and then those who are alive and belong to him. You are slightly off in your previous comment. Christianity as a whole was not forced, but the Catholic Churches law and belief was forced.
Furthermore to the last comment, even Christians were killed off if they did not follow the specific law and beliefs of the Roman Catholic church. To make a long story short, real, true christianity is not forced on anyone, they ultimately choose. History repeats itself, very soon real christians will be martyred by there fellow "christian" brothers and sisters. I live in a small farm town, and I'm not a christian (or anything for that matter) but ive gotten all the names in the book, ive been beaten up I've been publicly humiliated by teachers because everyone in my whole town is a closed minded christian. they don't seem to understand that i dont believe that one being (terrestrial or not) could be responsible for everything, good and bad. My point is, do not take Christianity lightly. Those who are wise will be able to see the meaning behind everything in it. I tell you all the truth, if you give the book a chance, you will begin to see that it is not quite the fable that people once thought it to be. Real christians are not hypnotized or forced. If you read the book it saids that God gives everyone a choice, however, Satan, the God of this world, takes everything by force. Murder, theft, addiction, etc.

The funny thing about it, is that real Christians have alot of facts, more than you would want to know. Science and Christianity can go hand in hand, until evolution comes into the picture. There is no proof of evolution, therefore it must be believed, with a sort of faith. If you are familiar with Thomas Henry Huxley, an ardent follower in Darwins footsteps, he admitted that his opinion is not grounded on any scientific facts or evidence, but was more of a "religious expression.

They say it is to celebrate the resurrection of christ, however, Jesus taught many that the law is unchanging, in fact, it is so unchanging that God did not spare his only son from the cross.

Back to the point, the book of revelations says that when Jesus returns, he will first resurrect martyred (one who chooses to suffer death rather than renounce religious principles) and then those who are alive and belong to him. You are slightly off in your previous comment. Christianity as a whole was not forced, but the Catholic Churches law and belief was forced.

Furthermore to the last comment, even Christians were killed off if they did not follow the specific law and beliefs of the Roman Catholic church. To make a long story short, real, true christianity is not forced on anyone, they ultimately choose. History repeats itself, very soon real christians will be martyred by there fellow "christian" brothers and sisters. Those who believe that the lawless one (Antichrist) is the messiah will do this to many.

I have no qualms with christianity as a societal influence towards the greater good, peace, love, discipline, understanding, etc.
However, when people take the words from anecdotal stories literally and proceed to spew complete and utter nonsense, claiming that they know the truth with a holier than thou attitude, its simply a disgraceful display of arrogance.
Mr. Anomaly has it right, Stop acting and preaching as if you even had the slightest clue of what the word god entails.

Real Christians have been granted the wisdom to understand the book. And if i am arrogant, then let my God judge me of that accord. Unbelievers cannot understand the parables of that book, due to lack of wisdom, not arrogance, just fact. Take genesis for instance. Satan is not really a serpent, but he is shrewd as a serpent, and very sneaky and despised. He crawls on the dust as a serpent for he is the greatest loser of humanity.

Thats why in proverbs, it says " one cannot understand wisdom without wisdom". You are right about one thing, many people take the things in that book literally, but that is because they do not read or even study its precepts. I am still trying to figure out how even some christians believe that Jesus was just a prophet, that he was not The living God in human flesh.

As I said, true christians are those who endeavor to be like God in every area, even though it is impossible in this weak flesh. What you seek you will find. "Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. Keep asking, and it shall be given to you". This is from the book of matthews. What this means is what it says, real christians seek God and endure great suffering to please the Lord. So my friend, it is not an act or a misunderstanding.

Its pretty simple, nothing abstract about it. If you are only at level 1 wisdom, you wont understand level 20 wisdom. Take this for example. " I saw a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon beneath her feet, and pregnant, and she cried out because of her laber pains and agony of birth. Revelations 12:1-2.
I will give a hint, in revelations, the woman is a church. Now if you have the wisdom to decipher this then you have wisdom to understand it. And if you do not, then you do not.
