Rose, i understand what you mean by a "Follow through but "Following through" happens after the contact. Following through has nothing to do with getting contact, or driving the ball. Extension does not matter because the ball is on contact with a bat only one thousandths of a second. Yes, you do need to follow through, but it isnt a MAJOR part of the swing. I bet you are telling her what you have heard from another "Professional Coach". I studied slowmotion analysis. I know what im talking bout

it does help, because when you swing you have to move those up wether you start with your elbow up or not, when you swing, to have a level swing your elbows will usually be "up"

Your elbow doesnt have to move up and it shouldn't move up. The only coaches you'll hear give this advice are in little league baseball and high school. Not in D1 college baseball and no in the pros. Now some point out pros have their elbow up...many do in their stance but when they load their elbow drops to the "power position"

That cage isnt 90, nor has it ever said 90. I've been dominating those cages, and that machine specifically since i was 13 yrs old. The cages are loacted in levitown,NY, right off3 the hempstead, turnpike. I believe its called batter up, and theres a gas station to the left of those cages.The fastest on a good day those cages are at 83 being thats the machine is close up. I sure miss these cages,I used to draw a crowd around them I every time I hit.These cages were a big part of my life.

actually , I tryed out for the 2 best guy teams in the northeast and I was the first girl to .. I hit singles doubles and walked mostly I have hit the ball to the 299 sign I ve hit 90 mph better than any pitching I've played baseball since I was 11 and i was always average or a little better thatn average with the guys . She can't. She's just not strong enough. Anyone can learn the timing to hit fast pitching when you know where the ball is going, but against real pitching on the big field, she wouldn't get it past the pitcher, even if she managed to connect.
