Of course you're not going to just lay there with a lazy inactive guard in the streets. Big Nog could get away with it because he absorbed damage like a sponge. You're going to look to break posture, get wrist control, etc...

I agree that in competition, you do what you can to win and butt flopping in front of a guy who wants to kick your teeth in isn't a very good strategy for "teh streetz".

The situation you described sounds like a riot or a many vs you type scenario. In which case prior track experience would be more useful than anything else.

But, this is Big Nog we're talking about. The man's strategy practically requires he be beaten within an inch of his life at least twice before he gets the sub.

Cro Cop was better in that fight, but that's the strategy of minotauro, he's like Balboa, he doesn't gets tired, and even when he gets, the opponent will be A LOT MORE EXHAUSTED, and against a weak opponent (not that cro cop is weak, but he got tired) BJJ gets waaaay easier to apply, since ground fights are 100% about resistance and skills and minotauro is a gifted BJJ fighter.
