I remember hearing a rumour that they were thinking of casting Peter Mensah (Oenomaus from Spartacus) for the role of Kratos a while back.

He could certainly pull of the voice, and does resemble Kratos.

He's 52, but has a history with martial arts so at least the fight scenes wouldn't look tacky.
