The piper jet is a mistake for piper. People will have the choice between the piper, cirrus and Diamond and probably Cessna will eventually get into the action along with a number of experimental single engine jets. The market is already flooded and it hasn't even started. For a struggling company like piper, they should think about innovating on what they are good at, trainer aircraft. Imagine a diesel twin trainer backed up by the Piper name. I think that would sell.
Are my eyes deceiving me or is that elevator absolutely humongous?? They better have a pretty low price point to be competitive with Cessna. It just seems to me that this aircraft is too little, too late.
It looked like he dropped the nose gear pretty hard on that landing. Overall it looks like a fairly good airplane. Still I think I will wait for the Honda Jet.
I was an engineer for Piper in Vero Beach for three years up until 05'. Great work guys. And jex9, it is a modified Malibu/Meridian fuselage. This keeps costs down as the same tooling can be used during manufacturing. Nice! I remember the first concepts for this aircraft. Love the first prototype.
Quite a radical design. It was probably back in the late '70s that anyone came out with a single-engine bizjet design. I think it was made by Swearingen, but the plane did not make it into production.
good luck but im afraid i find it the ugliest jet ive seen .It also looks very twitchy ?

First del 2Q 2013???!!! Wow - I bet that is not what potential owners wanna hear. Why? To line up suppliers? Mustangs are ready now.

Anyone notice similarities between the Piper jet and the Piper Malibu's fuselage? That engine makes a great sound!

Looks different. But Piper has really outdone themselves on this one. Just another chapter of that ominous covered book.

This aircraft is very good. Expectly of its price. The engins are very expensive, so we can call it "Low cost".

The reason it did not make it into production is that Al Swearingen kept calling everybody C-suckers, a habit he picked up in Deadwood.
Sorry, that was lame, but I couldn't resist ;)
