Not making the case of whether or not you should like the US or its guns laws

I didn't offer an opinion. I stated a fact. Texas gun laws are such that if an assault such as the one in the video happened and the victim had a gun, he could in fact brandish it to ward off the would be assailants if the victim felt it was necessary to use such force. If the assailant continued to assault the victim the victim can threaten to shoot and kill if the person does not heed his warning. Not making the case of whether or not you should like the US or its guns laws

However, I live in the real world, so I carry a firearm daily. My grandfather shot and killed a home intruder in the mid 1970s, and kept a would-be convenience store robber at gunpoint for the police in the early 1990s. Say what you will about guns, but I simply can't be convinced armed citizens are a bad idea as the stats show otherwise.

I have already admitted there have been and will be cases where a gun is actually useful, but the cases where it is used for bad outweigh the ones where it is used for good.
The stats clearly show that the USA are the worst in the world as far as crime and prison population go, and it would be gullible to assume that weapons have had no impact whatsoever on these stats.

Most murderer I've dealt with committed the crime as something of a emotional outburst rather than a premeditated or random act of violence. Sometimes for whatever reason people are pushed over the edge but most street side muggings rarely end in the death of someone. Especially one as public as this.
