You might as well just watch a slide show of east coast America. This film fucking sucked. No character development, no dialog. The words that are not mumbled or muttered are drowned out by the same shitty music over and over again. The majority of the scenes are shot in some random corn field with and unrealistic interpretation of Captain Smith and (stereotypical) Poch bla bla bla running about with the same shitting tune played over and over again in the back round.

I grew up and live along the banks of the James River in Newport News, 25 miles from Jamestown. Never really thought about how fortunate I am to spend my life in this area until I saw the beauty of this movie. I remember when New Line Cinema was here filming this movie, and I didn't think anything of it. It wound up looking amazing. Average movie, at best...but beautiful scenery and I feel like I know every inch of that water having fished, swam and jetski-ed in it over the years.

Amazing trailer, but very disappointing film. This trailer makes it look like another Dances With Wolves or Last of the Mohicans. It's barely a movie, more like an over long documentary, 99% nature footage, 1% plot.

One of the best trailers for a movie ever...but one of the most misleading ones as well..This is by far the only movie I have ever seen that the film was nothing and I mean nothing like the trailer....movie was just bland..i am sure it's got it's audience and people who love slow movies like this but the trailer demonstrates nothing slow moving as the movie indeed is paced as.
