As a social worker dealing with abused children I can tell you that shaken baby syndrome is a 'real' thing and a diagnosis. There are signs and symptoms that a child/baby has been shaken thus causeing harm to them. Even adults show some of the same types of harm when they are shaken violently...whiplash and retina detachment are among those I have seen in adults. Bruising on the arms and upper body are also common signs. Sorry about whatever happened to you but this is a real problem.

Doctors who arrive at an "Opinion"of Child Abuse instead of a Diagnosis should be struck off the Medical Register and sued for everything they own by Parents and Children who were harmed by their malpractice.

SBS is not a Diagnosis or a real Syndrome, it is the opinion of a Doctor who is too lazy to make a Diagnosis. It is an extremely dangerous opinion to form because it is often accompanied by a lack of treatment by the Doctor, ie; why treat the patient when you already "Know" what happened.

SBS did not exist until recently and now there are 1300 cases a year, that tells you something.

Many Parents who are falsly accused are denied the opportunity to be with their child when it dies.
