  • Yes U need someone with extensive knowlege of political science, foreign affairs, etc. A passion 4 ur country is commendable, but it doesnt qualify u as a presidential candidate, plus he had the residency issues hangin over his head. He's an artist, & a mediocre one at that. Also, if the "Fugees" is a litmus test 4 his bizness abilities/acumen, yall bttr think twice about this...'cause where r they now?

Xactly where the country will b n a few yrs, if that...gone!

  • TITS OR GTFO.

  • well said. see what i feel went on in wycleff's mind was he felt he was in an able position to make great changes for Haiti. his heart was in the right place, though and a lot of people grow up thinking "if i came up on some serious bank or if i was in the right position, i'd fix the world". i honestly think people can and should fix the world without having to be a president.

  • go to the bathroom...little girl.

  • Too much experience can b a bad thing. Most or all of the people with experience have been corrupted by years of politics. We r talking about rebuilding a nation not just being a foreign diplomat. Wyclef represents hope which is something people in despair need. I'm not saying he has all the answers but he would have the aid of his constituents to guide him. Martin Luther king was a humble preacher from a small town but later became a great leader and symbol for freedom.

  • Thanks Jo,

Alot of people just don't get it.

I'm a sports medicine therapist, would you let me operate on your family members knowing that I don't have a clue as to how to perform surgery, hmmmmm.

  • You're fearful because you lack knowledge.

Give a man a chance, he hasn't even presented his platform or vision for the country.

Sure, formal education or working experience is a plus. But I'm against the notion that a leader of a people requires credentials that the vast majority of country men don't have.

A leader should truly be representational of the people. And I believe in this respect, Wyclef is really credible. He is very down to earth.

  • OK/ you mean the terminator never had any issue with Holywood? - all you say for him is exactly.

  • Smart girl. Not sure if you saw this, but Sean Penn has a take on it as well.

  • @jcub33 Yes I read an article about Sean Penn's comments on Wyclef. Thanks for the link. I'll watch it now.

  • Now Wyclef is out so I think the right candidate will be president, no doubt everyone who was againts Wyclef will be ashame if the future president don't do anything for the country, so I think we have only great candidates because people don't come out to talk about them,

    Right?

  • Report: Wyclef Jean Denied Bid for Haitian Presidency

in Haiti, election officials have reportedly rejected the presidential candidacy of hip-hop artist Wyclef Jean. An unnamed official told the Reuters news agency that Jean has been excluded from a list of approved candidates for Haiti’s November elections due for release today. Although born in Haiti, Jean’s candidacy was challenged on the grounds he’s spent most of his life living in the United States.

  • dont get me wrong i agree when u suggested that a person should at least be qualified to perform a certain task, however if u look at Haitian history, the best leaders were organically chosen from the people. At this point though, clef is just a candidate amoung 22 other candidates for Presidency. In which another popular Haitian musician is running. So the Haitian People will decide , will u be angry if they chose him.. They as in people who still live there

  • Ronald regan was an actor and became president ,Arnold Schwarzenegger a body builder became the Govenor of California, Jesse the Body Ventura a wrestler became the Governor of Montana... just because you dont have a political career it does not mean that u cant be effective. If fact most of the politicians and educated class elites have failed HAITI.. Last, when Jean Claude Duvalier was elected President he was 19 years old. Something to consider

  • @wenithboy Arnold is not effective. California is bankrupt.

  • @spngbbndbynd regan went down as america greastest president, and how about ventura

  • @wenithboy Consider what? Its obvious youre out of your mind Haiti is not the US ...so why would you even compare the two..if anything Haiti is the direct opposite of the US.that is if you have any understanding of history..,the US was built on slavery and genocide and outright theft of native lands..Haiti gained its independence revolting against those things from the french.

  • @wenithboy futhermore.the US goes on wars of rape and conquest of of other nartions for their resources..Haiti does not...the duvalier regime was a US puppet government set up so american corporate interest could be advanced there..that means they wanted to basically undermine the country so they can gain access to cheap labor and the opportunity to rape and sodomize haitian children and get rich of the countries resources...and those cartoon politicians you spoke of never did anything...

  • @wenithboy those cartoon politicians to you mentioned never did anything to advance your interest as an american citizen.you must think that your country is heaven on earth when in fact its the most despised bully nation on earth.the reason people migrate here is because your country robed them of heir resources and turned their countries to factory plantations and cheap brothel were foreign tourist rape and sodomize their children under threat of war.if anything America is a depraved example

  • bottom line is wyclef is an illiterate circus monkey backed by an international coalition of bloodsucking pedophiles...his former band mate praz, also a circus monkey, hates the fact that wyclef is more popular than he is and decides to back another circus monkey backed by said bloodsucking pedophiles so he can be more popular than the other two circus monkeys ...in the end the bloodsucking pedophiles win and the haitian people are left with peanuts...

  • give the man a chance please

  • Let me put some light here, the reason why that youth Hatians supporting Wyclef is : we dont believe anymore the politicians and also experimented men, every 5 years they come and give us hope, but nothing was doing better for this population, always with them : Misery, poverty, Agriculture mediocre, unemployment, lack of collaboration, non-integration of the country's youth, poor educational system,ect.. they just think with they family and they bank account. " u wont resist Princess trust me.

  • Since 200 years Haiti has been led by some experimented men and politicians , but nothing was doing for Haitian ppl .Haitian people can't anymore support this type of government since 200 years and pass by this political regime "Aristido-Preval" who was the worse political regime, listen ! Haiti doesn't need politicians as it has had enough. we have been tried with experimented men and politicians, but they didn't do anything for Haiti.we need a real Haitian citizen who loves his country deeply.

  • Yes i agree with you, If you were in Haiti you'll not vote for him. but, you'll vote for who? Jacques Edouard Alexis, Yvon Neptune, Charles Henry Baker, Jean Hector Anacacis, ect...?

  • you look high as f*ck hahaha

  • @Bcprojects187 LOL!!!!! i don't Smoke i was maybe tired!!!!!!!!!

  • shake it little more u brown thing I am solely fixated on them honey buns that I can't take my prickly eyes off of.. one love p.s we should be together..

  • @slomw Thanks!!

  • WYCLEF'S EGO IS OUT OF CONTROL...HE COULDN'T EVEN POLITIC OR GOVERN THE FUGEES. A MUSICAL GROUP CONSISTING OF HIM AND TWO OTHER MEMBERS, HOW THEN DOE'S HE THINK HE CAN GOVERN A COUNTRY SUCH AS HAITI.

    WYCLEF JEAN'S A MEGALOMANIAC!!!!!!

  • WYCLEF'S EGO IS OUT OF CONTROL.

  • I think wyclef can do much better than Preval or Aristide

  • @MrBoy555 Why do you think he can do better than those two?

  • you raise some solid points, sister. Whoever would support Wyclef, just because he is Wyclef, needs to think on the points you have shared. Wyclef is a superstar performer, a philanthropist who loves and serves his country, and a great cultural ambassador, but president of Haiti? I don't think so because I don't see that he has the experience, nor the academic and social qualification for the job: a good solid haitian education, perfect creole and french, well grounded in the culture of Haiti.

  • @gonaive56 I agree. I have to look into the other candidates and see which one I think is most qualified.

  • Thanks for posting

  • @GWOZ0Z0 You're welcome. Thank you for watching.

  • People Like Aristide and Preval ruined the country. Everyone loved Aristide at first but he turned to the country to work for his selfish gain and started dealing with druglords & voodoo priest. Did you not forget he made the country's national religion to voodoo??? AND Preval just continued all of Aristide's dirty work. Just cause one has political experience doesnt qualify them to rebuild a country. They could have the cruelest heart ever. It takes LOVE to rebuild a country, not politics.

  • @BigDaddyBass Aristide was not qualified for the job. He was a priest.

  • @spngbbndbynd According to haitians he was because he spoke like 6 languages lol

  • @BigDaddyBass LOOOOOL, and they're about to make the same mistake! "I voted for Wyclef because he lived in the US and he's a rapper!" ...SMH. Lord help us!

  • @BigDaddyBass love and knowledge not just love but one should self educate themselve

  • I understand what you are saying. But the only person that can run the country as president has to be Haitian. What Haitian do YOU know that's already in Politics in Haiti that has a heart to rebuild Haiti? Everyone that had the experience you speak of has let the Haitian people down EACH TIME. And the Fugee's did reunite on Dave Chappelle's Block Party. & Rebuilding a country and rebuilding a musical group is two totally different things that can never be compared.

  • @BigDaddyBass You clearly missed the intended humor in thee Fugees comment I made at the end of the video.

  • @spngbbndbynd I'm sorry.... you kept it super professional through out the whole thing. I missed it by a long shot. I'm sorry

  • @BigDaddyBass Aww. No need to apologize.

  • @BigDaddyBass how would you know do you live in Haiti, if that is the case then I can vote for sweet micky

  • They need to sell this country to Europeans or some Middle Eastern group, and start from scratch. The Haitian are garbage people, they were never able to run their country from day one,and the never will be. White people needs to run this country and i bet you within 10 yrs or so it will be what the Bahamas is now.

  • I agree with you but we tried several times with this kind candidates we have now it's always the same thing,

These politicians that Haiti has they only wanted to full thier pocket, the only reason I can say we should try something else it's because we can not trust these Haitians politicians.

  • Whats ur Facebook page? I heard Pras was against it too. I'm also Haitian American too and IDK if running for president will be good or bad for Wyclef. At first I was for it then I thought about it overnight and now have mixed feelings and hearing what Sean Penn had to say made me stand by my mixed feelings for Wyclef. But we will see on August 17, If he becomes a candidate or not.

  • @birdmansurge I'll send you the name via personal messages on YouTube. Check it within 2 minutes.

  • @spngbbndbynd ok thanks

  • Well Put. I agree and thank you because Haiti needs to change and Wyclef Is the not the one to make those changes. keep up the good Humaniterian work and stay out of politics. If you know our History, Jean Jacques Desaline after all he did. was masacre by the Haitian people. Just one mistake you will be president on Friday assasacinated on Saturday and antere on Sunday. quoted fromYour song

  • @ARTNOZE I wish Wyclef could read this. Great comment!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ARTNOZE LOL Wyclef shouldn't had made that song in the first place. Now someone or some ppl will have the wrong intention of killing him. Friday: Elected, Saturday: Assassinated, Sunday: Buried, but he is not gonna go back to work on Monday which didn't make since because he just got elected on Friday and he isn't Jesus.

  • @ARTNOZE He needs to make sure that his ghost goes back to work on monday! LOL! Li dwe konprann c jwet!

  • i Will urge the Diaspora who had gone to school in the United States and who had being loyal to their Country including the Haitians American!! to Understand we must contribute our knowledge for Haiti prosperity. So much corruptions in Haiti the Government trying to exclude us diaspora because they don't want a change. those old fart love corruptions. they are against changes. You seems a Smart Haitian American who want to contribute 2 the point is by him running he'll give the diaspora voices!!

  • Ok!!! we can spend all day discuss about this but remember we weren't born with experiences sometime is good to learn it on the Field even when you actually go to school for it . Wyclef is an Haitians Citizen. He has his right and also the fact he lived in America is A + he won't be Caught up into the corruption mind frame. He knows what it takes to become successful. He can used the same discipline into politics. He's used his popularity on his advantage very good. i pretty sure he'll do fine

  • Are you serious? Yes I agree we aren't born w/ experience. However, I wouldn't go to a plastic surgeon who never went to medical school. There are some things in life that experience is appreciated. Presidency falls under that category.

  • @adfpresentation You talked about his fame. Okay. Let's pretend that Wyclef wasn't an international MUSIC super star. Let's pretend he was a regular 9-5 kind of guy. Would you vote for him then? You see, you, like most people are being over shadowed by is fame. Look past Wycelf the musician and look at Wyclef the person.

  • @spngbbndbynd Unfortunately Fame is all Mr. wyclef as to offer Haiti. So it is important he continues to be an Idol that represents Haiti from abroad.. Because in the Long run Wyclef will be as infamous as the word Papa Doc. I am an artist as such one of the philosophies I live by. Is to be a procreator and record History specially of Haiti in a positive aspect. Mr. Jean's is acting on emotions not the reality of incapability to run for the Presidency of Haiti. Please remain an entertainer.

  • the qualifying candidate is someone who willing to change. Guess what!! OBAMA never had any political experience!! i'm pretty sure you remember what he was before he became the president of the US and also, Wyclef is a millionaire and never change his Nationality respect the Man. When people was a shame being Haitian. He was the only one that put up the Haitian flag up in the Air as celebrity . I know you' re young but do a little research about Wyclef before criticizing. I was skeptical 2

  • @adfpresentation Did you just say "Obama" never had political experience before being president? Sir, you're an informed individual. Please read up on Obama. He was the governor of the state of Illinois before he was president And FYI most, if not all, presidents are governors before they are president.

And are you also telling me Wyclef is a perfect candidate b/c He's proud to be Haitian? I'm proud to be Haitian. I never once hid the fact that I'm Haitian. Can I run for president?

  • @spngbbndbynd My fault. I meant to say he was a senator. And most, if not all, presidents are governors or senators before they hold the presidential position.

  • You're Haitian American you had visited Haiti in several occasions but you didn't actually grew up in Haiti. I did!!! Haiti needs new fresh Air, new ideas from a new generation of people i m sick of those old fart who didn't do nothing for Haiti. Wyclef may not meet the political criteria for presidency but ask yourself the one who actually did they ever done something for Haiti!! we been suffer for so long is time for a change and don't compare Haiti to America it's different

  • @adfpresentation You know who else frequently visits Haiti but doesn't live there? Wyclef Jean. He hasn't lived in the country since he was 9. Do you think he's in touch w/ the climate of Haitian politics? I don't.

Also, if previous Haitian presidents were not qualified, don't you think it's time to have someone who is fill the position? This is a crucial time for Haiti. I would want the best person for the job. But according to you, my opinion doesn't matter since I've never lived in Haiti.

  • I completely agree with you! I love that you had the know how and good sense to post this! Kudos on you.

  • i agree with you, im also against wyclef being president

  • Good point...i agree with you!!

  • I think it's just a rumor that spin out of control... Wyclef's name will never even make it on the ballot. Just like there's rules and regulations for becoming an American president, there are rules to being a Haitian president.... and lets just say, he doesn't have the most basic qualifications.

  • ok.

  • @birdmansurge Do you have anyone in mind for the position?

  • @spngbbndbynd I"m on the same page as you. I'll have to see who else will be running for presidency of Haiti. But I don't want to see Préval run again.

  • So who do u think is fit to run for President in Haiti?

  • @birdmansurge I will have an accurate answer for you after I see who's in the presidential race for Haiti.
