I am a big man- 6'5" and weigh 250. My name is John, so when I was growing up people always called me Big Bad John. I sent a letter to Jimmy not too long before he passed away and told him the story about people calling me Big John, and how that started my love for Country Music. Jimmy wrote back and sent me a picture that he signed "To Big Bad John, Your buddy Jimmy Dean". I will always treasure it. How wonderful is was for him to do that for me. Love ya Jimmy!! R.I.P.
Jimmy Dean was like a God-Father or a second grandfather to me. He was super special to me. The last few weeks I've been meaning to call him to congratulate him for being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Guess I waited a little too late.
Jimmy, I will always have those special memories of you and since I was about 3, every time I get out of the bath or the pool, my wrinkly fingers remind me of you.
