Here in Atchison Kansas, we've been analog forever. I'm friends with the communications supervisor, and she advised me that we were'n't going digital for along time. That really bites, because I agree that digital police radio is alot clearer.

Close Call on that is pointless unless you're going to mount it in the car. Much better buying a 3500XLT if you're wanting the full use of Close Call. As for the TETRA question, NOTHING can decrypt TETRA, nothing at all. The golden days of scanning are long gone.

Yeah I agree there isn't much hope of tetra being listened in to as they channel hop stupid amounts of times/sec (TRUNKED) as well as being digital and encrypted and high bit rates ect the bastards lol ha ha

yes you can buy the cable and plug it in to program it, and update firmware, but you need to buy the software for programming also lol

I got the software and the cables with the Scanner. I also bought the UBCD396 it also came with cables. BTW the UBCD996 came with a multiband scanner antennae. which works quite well from my QTH (Home)

You can block out certain frequencies,its called broadcast screen!
