Just saying (No Offense):

If you have a synchronized gearbox you don't have to flip the gas before releasing the clutch (shifting downwards) and many modern cars are likely to have a synchronized gearbox, even the 1989 Volvo 740 wagon I drive have a Synchronized gearbox.

@MedicalAviator He's just "rev-matching" for smoothness when downshifting. Synchros don't necessarily do that for you.

(sorry i'm a rookie lol) and are you saying it isnt necesarry the push the clutch in and then push on the gas pedal ? you just can push the gas pedal in ?? (sorry for the questions but i just wonder ^^ because i am almost going for my license)

I just know that a synchronized gearbox is a gearbox that allows you to change gears (e.g. 4th gear to 3rd gear) by just pushing the clutch down move the stick from the upper gear position to the lower gear position and then releasing the clutch to go into the 3rd gear without you having to care about going from 4th gear to the neutral position and the give a flip on the gas to match the RPM of the 3rd gear before you go into that gear.
