Honestly im a dc fan but tgis is just sad. All the fans that come to a dc game have to face losers like these. Its all the defensives fault from the start of the season. I can honestly say that I was crying that night. Its all because of the defenders. Nuff said
I was at this game for my birthday. It's funny how they scored in the 90th minute and still wound up losing at the end. You can hear booing at the end. Everybody was doing it.
ok seriously if the score is 1-1 during stoppage time with only seconds left in the game every ball should be fought and contested for..the defenders are just raising their hands asking for an offside rather than play the whistle. im a dc fan, but i still think we deserve this loss..the defending is terrible
I watched this live while turning back and forth with the Hawks game on Saturday and I've never seen anything like that (2 goals in stoppage by the same team). While the MLS is still not on par with some Euro and Latin leagues, it's getting better and better and is good soccer. Go Fire.
If you look closely (or pause) at 3:31, you can see that Fire's Segares (13) is onside the moment Fire's Barouch (15) passes the ball on the lob pass. From what I can see, looking at the player's shadows (which kind of look parallel to the 18-yd line) Segares is behind Fire's Chaves (99). Chaves could be offsides or equal to United's Kitchen (23) but Barouch passed to Segaries and Chaves did not affect the pass in any way. Really hard to see but a good call by the assistant refs on this one.
The refs get a lot of crap, but I'm going to say that was an excellent no call by the linesman. The run was perfect and he saw it right. It would've been really easy to call it otherwise.
I would liked to have seen a better angle for Fire's second goal. Looked a bit offside to me. But the keeper should I've stayed on his line. The only thing the crosser could have done was that; there wasn't enough time for another touch. If he had stayed on his line he would have saved it, end of.
I'm a DCU fan, and as much as I want that second goal to be offside, I just don't see it. Not that the angle or whatever doesn't show it. I paused it at 2:37, and the ball is in the air already, and the run is onside. It's a legit and well crafted goal. Heartbreaking nonetheless, but a great heads-up play.
Now enough with the diving comments--let us mourn the loss of the game (and probably the season) in peace. Get off your high horse.
@lmf133rd Seriously! Sometime i wish the refs in fifa were as bad as the refs in real life! But then again sometimes i wish the refs in real life were as good as the refs in fifa hahah
What kind of a moron is this director? He shows two replays, neither of which show whether the runner was offside or not. Has he ever directed a soccer match before?
I HATE it when defenders stick their hands up looking for the offside call and are then slow to react when it doesn't come (on the second Fire goal, in this case). Play. To. The. Whistle.
Really says something about the chokers by the Potomac and their very few fans that they can't even get anyone to listen to their need for a place to play. A drag on the league.
I hope DC beat Portland on Wednesday at least to make next weekend interesting. We don't deserve to make the playoffs, so many blown leads, giving up 50 goals, and we can't win at home. Plus we flop around the box because we have no creativity.
@FreezerFTW88 i'm brazilian and a huge football fan...the national league in here has been following the europan style since 2003, and i personally think it sucks balls...it's much more fun when the competition has those knockout rounds...i kinda feel good seeing the growing of mls: more teams, more fans, more great players...the nba should follow the mls's postseason qualification system =)
@xibataxit I totally agree with you, the MLS is a very young league and it's way better than others football leagues. I'm glad to see that the MLS continues to expand and grow, and I believe the crowds will become larger.
@iSpank2000 Yes, it is.The MLS has and is gaining more respect. As long as they keep in touch with the rest of the "Soccer " World, don't be surprised if this league is very successful.

@JamesPotterHarry Uhm, you might want to check again, lol. Look at the defender above the half circle. He's clearly onside.
loveandsolidarity 4 months ago
@JamesPotterHarry he's online with the defender, if not behind him, as the ball is played from Barrouch...I'm pretty sure that's called ONSIDE.
