@StMarciano Look at reviews on Metacritic. It's a highly-rated, well-liked open world FPS where you can approach objectives in any way you feel works with your play-style. The graphics are mind-blowing, and gunplay is excellent, the AI is damn smart (other than those infinite eyesight guys from time to time)...why you're dismissing the game based on what you've "heard" is beyond me, especially when you admit you don't even KNOW if it's good. I assume you haven't played it?

I was really glad I torrented it. It has its moments but yeah, BORING is the best way to describe it. It wasn't good but it wasn't shitty either, its too neutral too easy no matter how hard the difficulty you play and there's never really more than 5 enemys on screen at the most. I didn't want to accept the fact that it was bad, but it WAS pretty bad. But I understand the circumstances, so I don't COMPLETELY blame them, I'm just glad they got it out there, hopefully the next game will be better.

@Visser0x That made a patch that allows you to carry up to 5 weapons(either that or 4 I forget) but besides that the regenrating health isn't a big issue it's just always on people's "Things to bash DNF about" list.Regenerating health isn't really a con especially in this day and age.

Mediocre does mean average, by the way. Also, if this is a patchwork piece of crap, then so is Half Life. The straightforward puzzles that stop the flow of the game dead? The pointless driving segments that only serve to get from point A to point B? How about trapping you in a room and forcing you to listen to the character's dialog finish before you're allowed to leave? They actually share all the same problems.

Scripted events like "PRESS X TO NOT DIE", or "PRESS X TO OPEN DOOR AND START THE SLOW MOTION THING" are definitely bad. It's all about the context in which they are used. HL2 did scripted events right.

You know who does it wrong? BF3 single player. "PRESS X TO KILL RAT". TERRIBLE.

@Captain9099 is also right about DNF being dated. The comedy, writing, and characters would have worked great in the mid to late 90's which is exactly what they said in this video, but today, characters like Duke just don't work anymore. Just look at Sonic, with his "BADICAL, MAN" attitude, which is also from the late 90's. It just doesn't work anymore.

@HandyMan101 Duke Nukem Forever did suck. Unlike these guys, I love Duke Nukem. He's an icon. And I got to witness him mutilated into a laughing stock (possibly killed) right before my weeping fucking eyes. The game was clearly an unfinished product. Over a third of the script was left out of the game. The gore was shit, the Hoover Dam was boring and the endinding was incredibly shit. I love the idea of Duke running for President but we'll never see that sequel.

Games like this and the new Splatterhouse are great. I enjoy the hell out of them. It way better than the mind numbing shit that so called gamers love these days. Every Call of Duty is BAD. From its PC origins to now, they all suck. They make Catacomb 3-D look like the greatest game ever made. Yet people go and suck Activison's dicks for more of the same game every year.
