Great year 1977 was in Britain, such contrasts, stuff like this and David Soul going up against the new punk rock phenomenom and as a 13 year old I could accommodate both without prejudice. Never known a year like it since.
I'm glad I was able to figure out what song this was. It was in the opening of a song by Cities Aviv, and I loved how it sounded. The entire thing is even better than I expected. (:
How come I don't know this song?? I grew up on Long Island and was 15 when this came out? I'm so surprised that I've never heard it, AND my name is Laurie (close enough) . . . what's up with this??
I have been following and really enjoying Barnaby Bye and the Alessi Brothers since the release of Barnaby Bye 1st album. I feel that they should have made it much bigger at least in the US & Canada and then in many other countries.
One of my guilty pleasures (and there were many) from '77 when this song came out---I was 9. It's all about the great harmonies these brothers produced not to mention teen idol looks! Along with "Afternoon Delight" from Starland Vocal Band in '76, this stuck to my neurons to this day.
It's no wonder these guys continued on writing jingles---they certainly excel at it.
ow I think that is lovely...your wife must love it!... I love this song so much...fills me with happiness...I was 11 too when this was out....always wanted someone to sing it to me :-)
Love the comment about feeling young again listening to this. It's true. Modern music is the poorer for not having room for stuff like this. I feel like crying listening to this. Probably nostalgia.
first heard this song in 1977 just before i got married . thougt it was great, hearing it now brings back a lot of nice thoughts its a pity my marrage is now over well what can i say ( BUMMER]

Brings back a complicated, fantastic, bittersweet, summer romance. Wonder where he is now?

This wasn't 1976, it was the summer of 77. I was 13 years old then and it was a great summer - lots of fun! Oh to be 13 again!

I love this song. It may be much older than 17 year old me but I really love it. Much better than most modern songs.
