politicalfarce. I'm not nuts. The money we're spending in Iraq is temporary, we will eventually leave. Also if you consider the money we're spending in Iraq as military spending then we're still spending less as a percentage of GDP than during the cold war. A lot of the money Obama wants to spend will be on new programs that will grow and go on forever. We need to do two things with our money; invest in our infrastructure, which will create some jobs. Second, pay down our national debt.
jbranstetter04, parts of your 2nd post are accurate. We do need to invest in infrastructure and national debt reduction. Also green energy and health care. Those are Obama's main budget allocations. He has some other smaller programs which would be funded for about 5 years with the money we spend in Iraq in one day!

Programs like giving more money to teachers may last long, but so will the long term benefits they'll generate.
As a business owner with 12 employee's I know that health care is an important issue. If I were to provide it for my employee's I would not be competitive and would go out of business. If businesses in our country provide health care, while businesses in other country's do not, then we can't compete with them. Hence, the call for National Health Care. We should provide a $3,000 per individual, $500 more per kid, refundable tax credit to Americans to buy their own health insurance.

He chose surgery. while on the waiting list he had a stroke and lost the use of the left side of his body. They then deemed the surgery would be a waist on him and only aloud him to do Chemo. politicalfarce. I'm not nuts. The money we're spending in Iraq is temporary, we will eventually leave. Also if you consider the money we're spending in Iraq as military spending then we're still spending less as a percentage of GDP than during the cold war. A lot of the money Obama wants to spend will be on new programs that will grow and go on forever. We need to do two things with our money; invest in our infrastructure, which will create some jobs. Second, pay down our national debt.

jbranstetter04, parts of your 2nd post are accurate. We do need to invest in infrastructure and national debt reduction. Also green energy and health care. Those are Obama's main budget allocations. He has some other smaller programs which would be funded for about 5 years with the money we spend in Iraq in one day!
And Iraq is "temporary"? It lasted longer than World war 2 man!
Programs like giving more money to teachers may last long, but so will the long term benefits they'll generate.

As a business owner with 12 employee's I know that health care is an important issue. If I were to provide it for my employee's I would not be competitive and would go out of business. If businesses in our country provide health care, while businesses in other country's do not, then we can't compete with them. Hence, the call for National Health Care. We should provide a $3,000 per individual, $500 more per kid, refundable tax credit to Americans to buy their own health insurance.

I still cannot figure out why Obama supporters are being thought of a "sheeple", the whole idea behind our system of government depends on getting people to your side and yes leading them. I am not immune to the charms of a person, even GW gets me to laugh sometimes. I know a "sell" when i see it & he hasn't "sold" me on anything, not to put too fine a point on it but i would say he has engaged my mind and believe in the power of "the people". I was there when C Manson did his thing. We are NOT in the 60's. We can't "gasp" over his name. He had a chance to diffuse this by saying "That's my name". Instead the guy got fired. I think I was agreeing with you, somewhat. I had a terrible time trying to find his agenda and when I did there wasn't much detail. I'm too old to listen to a good speaker and not look further. There are just so many talented persons of color, he is just not the best choice. I'm sorely disappointed in Harvard, any school, that is still teaching anyone it takes "white" to be successful.

I was 10, or 11 when Manson did his thing, but by the time he went to trial, I was understanding what happened, then read Helter Skelter in HS. I was fully aware for Jim Jones, but I was young, I thought he had some good ideas, good thing was I was in TX, not Ca, much like I feel the Obamanics feel now. That's why I watched it for you. You saw how effectively Obama handled the Rev. Wright incident and maintained his top position in the national polls. Smears don't work on Obama, not from the news or from his opponents. The only way to beat Obama is by challenging his ideas, something nobody can seem to do.

Yeah, it's the point though. Pearl Harbor was missed because someone didn't pay attention & 9/11. The Trade Bdgs were a target. NY had responsibility there & didn't. Air strikes were a surprise but those notices went someplace and someone dropped the ball. There are a # of blocks every organization uses too. It was a question easily fielded. He didn't have a good response for someone familiar with gov procedures. Our gov really has very fast communication system. Inexper & blocks get in the way.
