  • my grandmother has sun downers, and at night she gets up and cries cuz she thinks someones in the house... i feel so bad.. i love her so much. she's hilarious, ask my friends. she's loyal, ask my grandpa. she's loving, ask my dad. she's protective, ask my mom... she's an amazing grandmother, ask me. but she's 84, and her health is slowly demeaning. this song makes me feel bad for my grandpa, cuz he's perfectly healthy, and still works in his garden and builds things. he'll miss her so much. D:

  • My grandpa died last month, and i hardly blinked an eye when my dad told me.

That night i cried myself to sleep.

I hardly have gone a night since without crying.

    I am so sorry grandpa.

I never will deserve a grandpa like you.

    RIP Grandpa

    :-'(

  • my grandma is 91 and she is just starting to have alhemizers and forget on all the old stuff which is sad cuz she always rememebered everything.thanks for uploading!

  • I really like this song. It describes my grandparents almost perfectly. My grandmother has alheimerzs and its worse every day. My family doesn't know if she'll make it to next Christmas and I just hope every day that she will.

    Love you Grandma!

  • I work in assisted living memory care and my friend knows this and made me listen to this song it made me cry so much

  • My grandpa died when I was two. Now I'm 16 and my grandma is 98. This is actually like a story of her life. <3 I love you grandma

  • My Show Choir is doing this song as a ballad this year....this is a beautiful and amazing I had a Great Aunt who passed away and I used to visit her a lot with my mom and meme and she never remembered my name but she remembered my meme and then thought my mom was meme too!:D but I miss her and this song means a lot to me! if I can I"ll post a video of us singing the song!

  • So sad.

  • I know this song is about Alzheimer's, but I see it as more of a love song. It demonstrates how powerful love is, and that love conquers all. I especially like the line, "We started losing her when she lost him." I can't help but feel that if my husband dies before I do (hopefully when we're both very, very old) that part of me will die too. And I hope that I will remember how he made me feel up until my last minutes because our first days falling in love were the happiest of my life.

  • my grandmother is suffering from dimentia, a form of alzheimers, and was moved into a home this past year. It's been really hard for my grandfather who feels like he let his "sweet girl" down. I've never seen a love like theirs. we love you boco <3

  • This song makes me think of my mawmaw...... RIP MawMaw i love you and you will be missed ... Always

  • first time I've ever heard this song. I'm crying my eyes out. My grandma was a mother to me and she past away 4 years ago come Feb. She was like this the thing that hurts the most is I never got to tell her good bye and how much i loved her. That's the thing that's sucks about Alzheimer they are gone way before there body is ready.

  • this is simply precious <3

  • My grandmother died in March. I never really knew her. She was diagnosed with alzeimers when I about 2. I never knew her before her mind started to go. I knew that she knew who I was, but I never really talked to her. I remember her bringing me coloring books and crayons, and we would color together, but thats pretty much it.

  • This is what heaven is going to be like.

  • I just lost my grandma and this song reminds me of her. Thank you for posting the song. I love you, Grandma, you'll always live in my heart.

  • This song brings back memories of my Dad, who's health went steadily downhill from dementia. My Dad couldn't remember what he had for breakfast, but could tell my sons all about his tour in the Army, and about his childhood. On those days he talked coherantly, my sons were held in awe of their Grandfather's life stories.

This song says it all for my Dad. He is missed so much everyday. Thank you Rascal Flatts.

  • I LIVE BY ELLSWORTH!!!! Haha

    love this song

  • @TheMilli927 I live in Ellsworth! :D haha!

  • i miss you great-granddad even tho i didnt know you that well you're still in my thoughts and dreams and i'll never forget the day you left and how i wasnt allowed to see you in the hospital. you meant alot to me and i cried every night that you were in the hospital. i'll come see you're grave soon.

  • i miss you grandma and grandpa i hope i see you someday!! i love you guys

  • @evilass90 my heart goes out to you my friend...My grandmother passed away 4 years ago and I think of her to this day....this song is close to my heart because my grandmother never knew who I was but the stories she told me of my grandfather and her growing up were pressed deep in my memory and heart..I will cherish those stories and pass them down to my children and grandchildren...hang in there...remember the good days you shared with her...God Bless

  • @tweetygirl64699 Thank you. Im coping better then i thought even though it still hurts a lot

  • this is one of the saddest songs i ever heard

  • This song gives me goosebumps everytime!!!

  • My great-grandfather died November 2010 and I lived with him from the age of 4 to 13 and those were the best years of my life, I'm now turning 14 in August and everytime I listen to this song I have to wipe tears off my keyboard because when he was in the hospital and they said he had only 2 - 5 days left my heart sank and the last day he was alive the doctor really did say me crying and screaming was what was keeping him here. I was in pain and he knew. I finally told him I loved him, I'm okay.

  • @juliannaisabelle Im gonna cry now. :( I know he's in heaven.

  • my grandma is in assisted living for alzhiemers right now. this song makes me really sad because she's 95 & can't even remember who her only son is. dealing with alzhiemers for the family members is almost as hard as dealing with cancer. it's harder than it seems. </3

  • this song is about my home town which is were my grandparents are currently living, but they are going though some hard times with my gamdpa having cancer.

  • my grandpa had alzheimers and passed away just a few days ago.. this song is so touching, because he was in the army and they got married in 1947 and i just thought it was so ironic when it said 1948.. i love this song, i miss my grandpa and my grandma misses him just as much and even more. R.I.P grandpa Hi. love you so much :)

  • My grandmother has alzheimers. This song reminds me of her. Its like the exact everything! R.I.P grandpa. Love you grandma<3

  • this song almost completely fits my grandma. she recently has been diagnosed with dementia and is already losing lil bits of her short term memory...but when i ask her about my grandpa (who died almost 3 years ago) and how they met, her whole face lights up and she can remember every little detail. its amazing. i miss him everyday and i cant imagine what it must be like for her, but her stories helps everyone remember him : )

  • This is so sad and touching, reminds me of my great grandma she would always ramble on about her past and it mad me so sad when we saw her on Christmas two years ago, she wouldn't stop talking about it all and she kept on asking questions. I wanted to give her a hug but she was just so frail.

  • in my opinion, this song's about Alzheimer's, not just losing your memory when you grow old, and i've lost two family members to the disease. Did you know, along with the memory loss, it hurts them too? More than just emotionally and mentally i mean, physically too. RIP to Billy and Lou. Love ya both!

From their first date when they were 15 and when the danced on the beach with no music and she shows us letters from him at war. And she has his varsity jacket still she remembers him proposeing and she remembers him teaching her to surf . They were so in love its adorable when she talks about him. • this song actually made me cry, my grandma to a letter. its sad now, because shes in the hospital hanging on the edge of death and yet shes living day to day. she speaks as if shes still 20, but shes over 95. i love my grandma

  • It's not depressing to me. It is about a love that is so pure and true that it defies even the biology of growing old. It is about a love that is so heart felt, that it can be remembered through the tests of time. It is comforting to know that there is someone out there that can hold you in such wonderment that you carry them with you until the end. I love this song and I thank God that I have found that one for me.

  • what the hell? i like them, but this is just depressing.

  • This describes my grandma so well! And she's always lived only two hours from Ellsworth. Thanks for sharing.

  • I remember when I first heard this song I laughed a little bit because of the "biscuit" thing. Just thought it was random. But by the end of the song I realized how sad it was and how much I was addicted to it.
