@Brendan2080 Problem is that with the change in Head Coaches to Norv Turner, the Chargers went from a power running team to a passing team. While the Chargers lose a sure Hall of Fame running back, they did pick up one of the most efficient quarterbacks in the game.

I guess Norv saw a lot in Rivers, and gave up on Brees(who just became the Super Bowl MVP). It wasn't a bad tradeoff, but the O-Line and the defense suffered under Norv, making it difficult for LT to succeed.
