Dianne, I like the point you made that people want to believe they make a difference. I thought this wasn't a big deal until my company gained 25% in revenue in two months doing exactly what you promote here. I have been a fan of yours for 5 years now. Keep these good suggestions coming. I share them in my Monday mornging company meetings.
It is the little things that we begin to build upon...commitment is one important building block! Several years ago Unwind Friday held on the last Friday of each month gave staff the opportunity to casually get to know one another over a simple dessert ...fun too!
Thanks for sharing another important element to building teams:)
@Moez60 This is so true. I recently posted an article on our free newsletter TigerTracks about the three levels of team building. Your dessert event really does allow people to casually get to know one another better. It is simple, doesn't take rocket science to organize, doesn't cost a lot of money to do and truly builds a sense of community by breaking bread (dessert). I really appreciate your sharing this because it is something any leader can do.
I was recently asked if our book TIGERS Among Us is available to digital readers. The answer is yes -- pretty much all of them. You can learn more about this on the book website TigersAmongUs
