Just a thought. Rick Warren begins his Purpose Driven Life book claiming that the problem with people is that they began looking for their purpose by making self the starting point. That is that they begin by looking inwardly. Here he seems to be saying exactly that. "Begin with how you are wired." Isnt that another way of starting with self? Human depravity caused us all to go hay wire. Just a thought.

When I think individually,I believe that God gave me a purpose, a calling, a certain way that I am wired. I love to sketch in charcoal. I am an artist. When I think about being as part of this world, He purposed us to love one another. We all want a world where we can love each other, but we never seem to reach it. Rick Warren is in the same category as Joel Osteen. They both teach unscriptural messages of self help, self motivation. If we could save ourselves, why would Jesus sacrifice all for us? We are sinful human beings and we needed a savior. Jesus Christ is our Savior. That "self-help" mess does not work. There's no way we could ever help our sinful selves. That's why Jesus Christ died for all mankind.

I tossed my purpose driven book to the local dumpster...forever in the landfill.

You are correct. In fact, when God saves someone, He has given that individual EVERYTHING. Eternal life is the absolute best gift anyone could ever be given, and it's totally undeserved.

This is the reason why the whole idea of rewards is not true. The reward is eternal life given by the undeserved grace of God. To ask or hope for more than eternal life simply is to be ignorant of all that God has done.
